SERIES HISTORY

Vols vs. Highlanders
Overall: UT leads, 6-0
in Knoxville: 6-0
in Radford: 0-0
at Neutral Sites: 0-0
Last Meeting: March 3, 2009 (W, 11-4)

NOTABLE

Dominant Weekend in Space City
Tennessee was impressive in all facets during its three wins at the Astros Foundation College Classic in Houston over the weekend. The Vols took home the tournament title after finishing as the only unbeaten squad in the six-team field and outscoring their opponents 23-6 for the weekend. UT launched 10 home runs while its pitching staff racked up 45 strikeouts over three games.

Fast Starts the Norm in Knoxville
Long win streaks to start a season have become commonplace under head coach Tony Vitello. UT's 11-0 start to the season marks the third time since 2019 that it has started the year with a double-digit win streak. The Vols won their first 13 games in 2020, a year after setting a program record by winning their first 15 games in 2019. A victory on Tuesday would tie this year's team for the third longest win streak to start a season in program history (2014 - 12 games).

Kilen's Weekly Honors
Gavin Kilen was recognized for his monster week by being named the SEC Player of the Week on Monday. The junior infielder slashed .611/.667/1.611, scored nine runs, drove in eight runs and accumulated 29 total bases over four games last week. Seven of Kilen's 11 hits for the week went for extra bases, including five home runs. Kilen finished a single short of the cycle in UT's 13-3 win over Rice on Saturday, going 4-for-5 with two homers, five runs and four RBIs.
