So I posted a couple weeks back in the "Weekly NASCAR Thread" and it appeared to get lost in shuffle that I think Trevor Bayne should do all he can to get out of his Roush/Fenway contract.
Does anyone else agree? He has made it known he wants to run Cup and I just don't see anywhere for him to go at Roush for the foreseeable future, unless they some how manage to find sponsorship for a fourth team. They just brought Stenhouse up after back-to-back Nationwide Championships, and I heard it mentioned either during the race or on some of Friday's coverage that they are looking at contract extensions for both Edwards & Biffle. (that seems to be a good bet with both making the Chase!)
One other factor Travis Pastrana the guy is in the top 15 in points and if he finishes off the season well and has another top 10-12 season next year he could be the guy to get a shot over Bayne as Pastrana with his personality and past associations could likely bring in sponsors such as Red Bull? Who might like to give NASCAR another go without actually sponsoring two full teams including own the cars.
I just think with all the moving around going on right now he would be one of the top name guys available if he wasn't tied to a contract. You look at teams like Furniture Row, Swan Racing & Turner Scott Motorsports he could either get a Cup ride or one of these up and coming teams that are looking to make the jump in the next year or so from Nationwide.
