The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

They probably will when it gets cooler. They want the visiting team to wear dark colors as they trap heat unlike white.

I did learn something new early when watching the NFL that unlike Baseball and Basketball where it's common the home team wears white it's the opposite in Football.
Exceptions such as the Lakers wear a bright Yellow for their main Home uniforms which is a great design.

Playoff chances (AFC) after week 4 (ESPN)

7. Tennessee Titans (3-1)
Chance of making playoffs: 45.2 percent

By far the worst 3-1 team by DVOA, Tennessee ranks 22nd while every other 3-1 team is 11th or better. All three Titans wins have come by just three points, although their only loss was also by just one score (27-20 to Miami in Week 1). They've allowed more yards per play (5.7) than they've gained (5.0) and have a turnover margin of just plus-one.

That’s an odd percentage considering how the division has performed and Titans already beat the Jags in Jacksonville.

By far the worst 3-1 team yet the only team with two wins against teams in their top 10 (top 6 to be specific). They complain about all of ours wins came by only three points but fail to mention one of those wins were with Blain f***ing Gabbert starting and the other two against top 6 teams (so just winning is a major accomplishment), and our only loss came to a team that is 3-1 in an 8hr marathon. It’s pretty ridiculous but kinda glad we’re being overlooked.

Zero research.

I really thought like other nfl teams that the other color uniforms that aren't white would be used for home games.

Because I wanted something current 2018 I changed my avatar to Titans qb throwing from the week 3 game at Jaguars.

Most NFL teams wear white at home the first few home games or sometimes for the first half like Carolina does, because it's still warm and it gives them a slight advantage. Miami usually always wears white at home for day games and aqua for night and sometimes late afternoon games, but this year they are wearing aqua/throwbacks for the last 4 home games.

Dallas is the only team that always wears white at home because when they started (or maybe their second year), they decided to be different and wear white at home. Plus ownership thought it would be better for the fans to get to see other teams' colors instead of seeing the same teams wear white every week, and this was well before every game was televised. And even still, the Cowboys now wear their navy jerseys for their home Thanksgiving game, a tradition they started a few years ago because they couldn't wear their throwbacks anymore.

The Titans' will probably wear their normal navy jerseys their next home game. They can only wear the light blues at home 2 times because of NFL rules, but if they are forced to wear dark jerseys for a road game, they are free to choose either navy or light blue, and obviously they choose light blue because of the heat in FL.

Something I haven't seen a lot of people talking about - Harold Landry. Guy could be a defensive ROY candidate. He was making the Eagles All Pro tackle look stupid last week.
How he fell to the second round I'll never know. His ability to bend and explode off the snap is something very few can do and you can't coach that. A pass rusher either has it or he doesn't. If he stays healthy he'll be a All Pro in Nashville for years to come.

Buffalo would be a trap game for us in years past but I believe this team handles business Sunday.

Titans 27
Buffalo 17

We win ugly. Just plain and simple. Don't matter how it's done, a win is a win.

We definitely did last year and have for the first few weeks this year (although I wouldn't necessarily call the Philadelphia game an "ugly" win, we actually looked pretty good lol). But for once, I want to see us come out and just mop the floor with someone. We haven't done that since the game against Green Bay in 2016. Buffalo is a prime opportunity.

Most sports the home team wears white. American football has always been one of the exceptions. Hockey has gone back and forth, it used to be the home team wore white but the last 15-20 years it went to home teams wears colors.

Even MLB and NBA have changed it up some, as many baseball teams wear color jerseys at home now, and many alternate NBA uniforms are dark and force the road team to wear white or a lighter uniform.

We have notorouously messed around with teams we should smoke. I'm not sure why but it seems like we always have all the way back to the Fisher days. But I agree with you, I wanna see us beat somebody by about 17-21 points and go through one game where it's not ever in question. Philly game wasn't ugly, you're right about that. The other two this year been ugly as sin though lol

Thanks for sharing I'll watch this.

It was a great play Mariota running for the 1st Titans td vs the Eagles which is why I choose to use this as a avatar and it how he moved forward as shown isn't a dime a dozen.
I'm a member on CBR using the Same Titans Mariota throwing in the week 3 Titans Jaguars game which has full view so a solution since I have multiple Terrific Titans MM avatars I want to use including from 2018 regular season games.

A slight sacrifice since it's a wide picture his other shoe the back isn't fully visible while the Football and everything else of Mariota is.
