In the last regular-season series between the two programs, UT swept Texas A&M in Knoxville back in 2023.

NOTABLE

Back Inside the Friendly Confines
Despite great success on the road so far this season, the Volunteers are happy to be back at home this week after back-to-back SEC road series at Alabama and South Carolina. Tennessee is 19-1 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium this season and has been one of the nation's best in home games since 2020 with a 173-26 record during that span. UT has posted four consecutive seasons with 30-plus home victories.

SEC Series Win Streak at 12
With last weekend's sweep at South Carolina, the Vols extended their SEC series win streak to 12, which is the fourth longest in league history. Florida (2017-18) and Vanderbilt (2012-14) hold the record for consecutive SEC series wins with 15 while Arkansas won 13 straight series between the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Streaking
A handful of players extended notable streaks in Tuesday's win over Tennessee Tech. Andrew Fischer kept his on-base streak alive in his final at-bat of the night and has now reached base safely in all 29 games this season. Hunter Ensley extended a pair of streaks with a single to center field in the second inning. The veteran outfielder has a nine-game hit streak and has reached base in 27 straight games. Dalton Bargo also pushed his hit streak to eight games after going 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Bargo's Breakout
After a bit of a slow start to the year, Bargo has been red-hot since the start of conference play. The junior utility man continued his torrid start to SEC play in Columbia last weekend, leading the team with a .500 batting average and five runs scored while tying for the team lead with six hits in UT's series sweep over the Gamecocks. Bargo is hitting at am SEC-best .464 clip in league play with a pair of homers and seven RBIs.

Law of averages: A&M will likely take one game at LNS as they’ve severely underperformed to date, and some on the forum (ie NegaVols) will absolutely lose their minds. It’s baseball. SWEEPS are uncommon even with elite teams. Be happy with winning the weekend series! GBO!

I can’t figure out why they are so bad right now. With Prager and Lamkin as your top two their record should be better.
They are dead last in the conference in BA and OBP and have only scored 1 more run than Missouri, although A&M has played one more game than them so they actually score the least amount of runs on a per game basis.

It just goes to show you that coaching matters. They thought they would continue to roll. I wonder if the two stars that were flirting with TN now regret staying at A&M?
They probably do, but Hunter told me that if they came here we would've lost some of our key guys to the portal. I wish those guys well, but I'm happy to keep ours.

Anyone know what the game plan will be as it relates to the potential crappy weather on Sunday? When would they announce a Saturday double-header?
