well here it is. take your shots at the most hated franchise in all of sports. if you think they are bad for sports or just baseball, post your reasons why.

I never understood why people say they suck.

Hate them all you want, they win

The thing I don't like about them is that they are taking advantage of the main problem I have with baseball... No salary cap. The amount of money Steinbrenner dumps into that team is ridiculous. If you put a salary cap on baseball, the Yankees would flounder. I guarantee it.

I never asked for reasons. I just said saying they "suck" is a joke. They win more then any other team in SPORTS.

there is a cap but the thing is, it is a complete joke. when it was instituted, the owners decided to have teams that went over the cap would have to pay a luxury tax. it is somewhere between $40- 50 million every time they go over. the owners never even thought that the yankees would EVER have that much money and or power to pay that kind of fine year in and year out.

Not criminal at all. They play by the rules and win.

Steinbrenner built up the Yankees into a huge winner.

Not a Yankees fan but I respect them.

if playing by the rules is taking all of the talent in the major leagues and building a team of all stars, then sure they are. but this is not giving the rest of the league a level playing field.

it is what? playing by the rules? if so then why is there even a luxury tax fine?

There is a luxury tax because lower paying teams need money to help stay afloat from the bigger money-making teams.

Whether the Yankees created that problem (which they didn't) or not, what they do is still "legal" and they take advantage of it.

People act as if other teams such as the hypocritical Red Sox don't have ridiculous salaries.....geez

i dont think the red sox have a $200 million salary OR did they have an opening day roster of all stars but i may be mistaken on that.

and if what the yankees do is so "legal", then why do they take advantage of it?

Yes, you are quite wrong. Red Sox have numerous All-Stars that they signed and/or traded for.

Manny? Schilling? Foulke?

and if what the yankees do is so "legal", then why do they take advantage of it?

Huh? They take advantage of something that is legal.....I am not sure what the problem is with it.....

taking advantage of is generally a bad thing.
and the ENTIRE starting lineup opening day for the yankees consisted of former all stars.

Hell no, if I could take advantage of something that helped me out and was legal, I would be all for it.

but dont you see there is a safegaurd to prevent a team from dominating in a way that the yankees have. the tax.

Yes, without a doubt it will help.

The Royals will never be contenders because they are horrible at drafting and don't resign their good players and/or treat their SP's correctly.

Zack Grienke is a star being abused.

Saying the Yankees take advantage is true, but why wouldn't they? That's like Tennessee saying we have a recruiting class with 5 top 100 players so far and to be fair we are going to stop trying and give everyone else a chance.

I hate the Yankees but you can't blame them for taking advantage of the rules. You have to blame MLB for the cap rules.

it wasnt mlb that set up the rules. it was the owners, who have all the power. and they cant repeal it or some teams would cease to exist.

there you have it. you still can't blame that on the Yankees.
