Former national championship-winning, hall of fame coach of the Washington Huskies Don James passed away from pancreatic cancer this season.

It would have been a great memoriam for the coach had the teams of two two of his pupils- Gary Pinkel (who served as his offensive coordinator at Washington) and Nick Saban (who was a graduate assistant under him at Kent State) - played each other in the SEC Championship next weekend, a game, in a way, more or less in honor of the coach's memory.
