Looks like the Clinton's are about to do the old switcheroo.

Senator Bill Clinton?

He's been Gov. Bill Clinton and President Bill Clinton. Could he become Sen. Bill Clinton, too?

That's the scenario some Democrats are envisioning if Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton wins the presidency in 2008, according to the Washington Examiner.

she has to be elected first...

NY Governor Elliot Spitzer will have have his arm twisted to appoint Bill to the vacant seat. I'm sure he has a lot of other political favors to pay, and bending over for a couple of carpet baggers is pretty low on his list.

I really have a hard time believing Bill would want the job.

when was Bill part of the Federal Judiciary? or do you include all lawyers as part of the Judicial branch?

He hasn't been in the Judiciary. The closest he got was being Attorney General in Arkansas.

Didn't he lose (maybe temporarily) his law privileges as a result of the perjury conviction? Hard to imagine him being nominated and confirmed as a federal judge (at any level) given the newer interpretations of "advise and consent"

Bill never was in the Judiciary. He could be though. He could be Senator and then appointed by his wife if the occassion presented itself.

Yes, Taft was the man.

Just because he lost his credentials with the Bar, that does not disqualify him from being a judge. I'm sure the confirmation hearings might be testy on the issue but any of us here are technically qualified providing we are not convicted felons or traitors.

Did he lose his credentials permanently or just temporarily.

I would think the action by the bar would certainly have legitimate baring on his qualifications to be a judge. Whereas any of us fine citizens who haven't had such incidents in our past would be clear on this issue.

Honestly many of those who make it on the bench are in very close company to Bill's behavior if not in personal behavior definitely in public or corporate behavior. Looking at many of the decisions out there, it looks like the only qualification is a pulse. No brain necessary.
