A few lesser known programs have impressed me thus far in the young basketball season, I am curious as to some of the other basketball junkies thoughts on teams like UCF, WKU (I know there were already some on the board that were talking them up) George Mason (okay not really lesser known after that run a few years ago, but you get the gist), and Belmont.

Also, what other teams that may be flying under the radar are impressing you?

I think Winthrop has the potential to pull off some upsets again this year. They've already defeated an average Georgia Tech team this year. Also, this may sound like the stupidest thing you've ever heard but if VMI can somehow make the tourney they'll be tough. I know they've lost to Dartmouth and Northern Colorado(scary I know) but Reggie Williams is fun to watch and that team is fun to watch.

I guess Davidson and Butler and Southern illinois are givens because they are ranked?

Davidson didn't look especially good in their last game, but I expect them to flirt with the top 25 all year. Southern Illinois and Butler are the new Gonzagas of the world.

We'll have to see how Curry's injury affects his shot the rest of the season. He's the reason Davidson is where they are now.

Yeah, I mean Richards is good and Lovedale can certainly play coming off the bench, but they don't really have anyone else that can carry them. I think Curry will be alright though.
