"Trying to win two games" when two out of the three are Vandy at home and UK-- is pretty uninspired. Doesn't sound very fired up about it.
We don't take too kindly to you logic and reason types around hereHey you know what we should do? We should look at every word these guys say under a microscope and try to figure out what sort of philosophical, psychological meaning there is behind them...kinda like the media does!
Or... we could just take what he said exactly for what he said. There are 3 games left, and the goal is to get to a bowl game, which means winning at least 2 games. End of story.
If we lose Homecoming, there are going to be a lot of pissed off alums, because Homecoming is a game you do not want to lose. If we lose to Vandy at Neyland, there will be a larger, more vocal crowd of pissed off fans. If we lose to UK anywhere, there will be hordes of pissed off fans vocalizing epic displeasure.
The goal should be to win ALL THREE games. Anything less should never be stated as a goal to the media. A month ago, that wouldn't have happened. The team believed, and they made the fans believe. Attitudes have changed, motivation has downshifted and confidence has evaporated. Sure wish we could get that home swagger back.
