Tony said he rarely pays attention to what the polls say. I think I’m going to follow his lead. It’s really nothing more than an ego stroke for me. A feel good kind of thing I can brag to my non-Tennessee family and friends about. Maybe it will ratchet down any anxiety a notch or two.

I’m just getting enjoyment out of how many Florida, Arkansas, and LSU fans are screaming at Kendall about our ranking in February. It is quite funny.

With replacing every position player on the field, I'd prefer to spend the year climbing the polls with no pressure. The performance of our pitching staff is hard to push too far down though.

Im Not a fan of preseason or early season polls. Though I know polls this early are just for the fans. But also, to only fall 1 spot after losing the first two is kinda mind boggling. Just hoping our bats get hot and we make it to Omaha (prefer to win it) but baby steps.

I get your point but the overall performance of this pitching staff is hard to ignore. We come out of the first weekend with a 1.8 ERA. Starting rotation is elite and the bullpen only gave up 1 ER. On paper, that wins a lot of games.

I thought we would fall several spots, but as you know baseball poles can be slow to react. With good reason.

DraftKings futures betting still has UT at #1.

Was kind of hoping that there would be an overreaction to our janky week 1 lineup and a pretty good deal on UT natty odds, but not so. It only dropped from +500 to +600. [LSU is #2 at +700]

Pitching wins championships.

In all honesty, we probably are not the #2 team in the Nation but winning of late and solid pitching gives you the benefit of the doubt. I do think we are capable of being a top 3 type team eventually........

I agree. Lots of individual talent but need to develope as a team.

I love the separate listings for the sake of comparison. If they threw out the high and low for each team, it may get you a little closer and negate a few apparent biases. I need to keep in mind that polls and rankings are for entertainment purposes only.
