Conservatives slam Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine over Transgender bill veto​


Conservative politicians and activist groups have condemned Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine's (R) decision to veto the Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act, which would have prohibited chemical or surgical transgender treatments for minors.

On Friday, DeWine vetoed HB 68, saying that the decision to pursue gender transition medicine for minors should be between parents and an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers that includes mental health practitioners.

DeWine's fellow Republicans, however, are calling on the state legislature to override the governor's veto to enact the legislation, which would also prevent biological males from competing in women's sports.

I refuse to believe you're this much of a dumbass. If the bill bans puberty blockers and all other types of care and you say "this is a good bill because people shouldn't be able to mutilate their kids," it would be like a bill banning drunk driving and also all other driving and idiots saying "good bill, intoxicated driving is bad"

The fact that there IS an "or" with other things before it should have already told you this was an incredibly stupid point to make

lol your inability to admit you’re wrong is adorable. The bill mentioned “surgical” aka “mutilation”. Therefore no one said that. Now, he may say that at a later time. Possibly. But he hadn’t in the post you mentioned but you didn’t “read the bill brainiac”

Jfc even with a kindergarten-level example you still can't understand that opposing a bill banning surgery AND puberty blockers, as opposed to just surgery, because "mutilation" is either stupid or misleading

Then the guy says it explicitly and it still doesn't get through your head.

It’s been argued already, puberty blockers are a medical treatment for plenty of non-trans kids and are reversible. I am pointing out that 8188 can’t handle a situation like an honest adult if his life depended on it

When prescribed as a treatment for trans it’s not an established fact that its effects are reversible. We ought to not experiment on our kids
