The Problems with Trans-ideology

These aren’t really scientific studies. Idk if you’ve ever bench pressed, but if we took a group of 8th grade males even the weakest of those kids could hit around 95-100 if untrained and around 185 in the stronger of your untrained group.

In my years of coaching, it was rare to see 8th graders benching below 95lbs.
If you have any "scientific studies" on the matter, particularly those that include true beginner/novice level data, I'd be interested. (that's not me coming at you, I'd genuinely like to know)

And just to put it out there the guys that BP article cites aren't just some gym bros so there has to be something going on there. I've no reason to doubt your word but maybe your personal pool of examples to draw from isn't as widely representative as you think it to be?

Sorry, I found one but it’s been hard to post due to my service (can’t get the image to load) and it’s for sure possible that my idea of average is the problem.

The study title is “Prediction of one repetition maximum load by total and lean body mass in trained and untrained men” and the first author listed is Cadore.

They got results of around 125lbs as the average bench in their group of roughly 40 year old untrained men.

I’ve found nothing on deadlift, which makes sense. If I were researching beginner level strength, I wouldn’t want to do it on a more technical lift like a deadlift or clean.

I found it with what you provided so I appreciate you pointing me in that direction.

And yes, a max deadlift is probably a poor idea for a true beginner regardless and even fairly light cleans likely wouldn't be advisable for that group.

You thinking 270 at 180 is a lot aligns well with my mental image of you
It's objectively more than just some average respectable amount, you having 3 different people tell you the same thing and still doubling down is about right for you though

I played football at a pretty big HS program and not everyone was benching 95 on day 1 of freshman workouts. The "weakest of those kids" were probably benching the bar tbh, 14 year olds don't just walk into benching 100 cold

I’ve seen very few kids who weren’t doing at least 95

not to start an argument, but most of the Trans-female boxers, MMA fighters, weight-lifters and swimmers I've seen look like they could hold their own......

Brother man, I've got a F2M trans who frequents my place who could whopp both our asses at the same time. They deadlift our combined body weight lol.

I dont dispute either of these.

I also dont consider ANYONE born with XY chromosomes , who then went through puberty and became a man....anything but a man. Because thats what they are. Men. When they were born the scientists (Drs.) Correctly labeled them as Male on their birth certificates. 200 years from now, when ANY scientist digs up their skeletons, they will easily be identified as a Man. At any point in time between those 2 events....their birth and a pile of bones...they can call themselves whatever the Hell they want. An Elf, a Furry, a Trans Am , or a corkscrew. No sweat off my sack....but it doesnt make it so. They are not any of those things. No matter how mentally ill they might be. The leftist complicit portion of the government can push their delusions instead of getting them the mental help they need...the Dimwits can USE THEM as a means to an end the same way they have used minorities forever...these dudes can get fake boobs and from what i have read a VERY small % can get "bottom surgery " and turn a real, functional penis into a fake, not functional "vagina"...thats none of my business. But that doesnt make them a "trans female" that should be allowed to compete with women or get in a ring and beat them to death....it makes them a MAN with fake tits and sometimes mutilated genitals. Thats not my opinion, its science. A single drop of blood and a microscope tell the truth without fail. So does the human skeleton...at a glance to the trained eye.

My comment was in regards to the women that masquerade as men...though I agree with you Dink in that a female taking enough testosterone (and if shes lifting like that probably some real anabolics like Trenbolone or Winstrol) can achieve extreme hypertrophy (big muscles) and get very strong. Those seem to be the exception to the rule though from what i have seen with more commonly those women looking just like butch lesbians with their typical flannel and Subaru outbacks. They just take it a step further and add testosterone and mastectomy to the bad haircuts and comfortable shoes. But hey, what do i know? Im just a racist, bigot, heterosexual white male that somehow oppresses everyone else on Earth....effortlessly without even knowing it 99.99% of the time. So theres that.

Doesn’t the bar weigh 45 lbs? At least that’s what I remember.

Most kids in freshman football could bench the bar with a 45 on each side. Some more, some less, but that configuration was pretty standard for most if I remember correctly.

Couldn't have been that big of a program 🤣. I played baseball, I'm 5'6", and weighed maybe 135 then, and was benching 180. My middle daughter at 16 was benching 135, my baby girl at 13 could get 85. I'm the same height, but vary between 155-160 now, and workout with 225 every other day. Your team had to be the scrawniest bunch of highschool football players ever🤣

Guarantee it was better than yours, had a few D-1 players on my team. We are talking about the first time someone lifts weights in their lives, they are not walking in and benching 180 at the beginning of summer

Same for us but not on Day 1 without ever lifting, which people are apparently struggling to understand

I never said they didn't win🤣, but ftr, so has my highschool. Lighten up, I'm picking at you. Your side would be a lot better if you'd take jokes better 🤣. Life's short, make fun, and take it in stride 😁

They put all the freshman boys who came out for the team in one gym class - it was essentially a lifting program, with some basketball mixed in.

There was clearly some rule or guidance that the class must be “co-ed” like the other gym cohorts.

They put 2 poor girls in the class. 1 refused to participate and would sit on the mats next to the wall. The other would bench the bar 😂

Pretty much same Joe. Im getting old though brother and never have benched 300lbs but made it damn close when i was younger. I didnt have all the detailed workouts or nutrition they have today though (or the internet to learn these things lol i am 46yo) my son is the exact same skeleton as mine and is 5ft11 amd 175lbs...with the nutrition and a great gym. I have video of him in my phone pushing 315 x 3 reps and be brings the bar to a dead stop on his chest each rep. lmao. I was never that strong and will never be. I dont even attempt to get under anything heavier than 225 anymore and thats rare right now. My labrums/rotator cuffs in both shoulders have scar tissue from too many years laying brick/block all day. It hurts pretty good for a couple days when i lift heavier like that. It sucks getting old brother. I can still put on muscle.ok (when i work for it instead of being lazy like now) but my ligaments/tendons in my shoulders and knees are bout worn out from a.couple.decades of construction work before i became a Superintendent. Hope.you were kinder to your bag of bones bud.
