The former bratwurst festival queen elected to attend an event to which she had no been assigned. She attended as a private citizen, purchasing her ticket as did other attendees from the general public. She wore personal attire appropriate to the occasion without sash, crown, or other trappings of the office of bratwurst festival queen. The festival board characterized this as a violation of her commitments as queen. They stripped her of her position and demanded that she return the trappings of the office.

Recourse:
1. Mount an attempt to replace the board. When successful, amend the rules or publish a more lenient interpretation. Assure that the former queen and her court are eligible to serve again.
2. Excoriate the board members in the press and social media. Shame them into resigning or delegitimize them. Start a new bratwurst festival to displace the existing one.
