The reality of the situation: He's got an uphill batle

This is going to be a very divisive hire - probably more than him and the UTAD anticipated.

He has to hit the recruiting trail VERY hard. We're accustomed to top 15/20 classes. Jones is accustomed to somewhere in the 50-100 range. The media will rip him apart if he falls outside of the top 25 in February which will translate to the spring game attendance. If that's down... he'll get ripped apart again.

This is not going to be a popular hire with the media either - simply put, we were big time outclassed by Arkansas. Some will argue this was the worst of the 4 SEC hires.

I really don't know how to feel out about this but I do know that Dave Hart and Jimmy cheek must go this is an absolute dumpster fire

Judging by all my friends who are UT Alumni, Athletics is going to lose A LOT of money next year because of this hire.
