I think the South Carolina game will be the "resurrection" of Arian Foster. This should be the game where he shows the nation that he's back as UT's premiere tailback, and that he's put his injuries behind him.

If UT gets him 20 carries or more, I'm guessing that he's rumbles for close to 150 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Foster should definitely have a good day considering that SC's defense gives up an average of 146 yards on the ground (I think).. Combine that with Ainge having a good day and it's going to be fun to watch.

I do not get the feeling that Arian Foster can run for 150 behind out OL. Maybe next year, but this year, no Coker means no great rushing performances.

I personally feel like he could get 150 against SC with below average line play. We haven't really seen Foster as our workhorse this year, if nothing else, maybe Ainge will toss him the ball a little.

Yeah, UT's run-blocking this year certainly makes 150 yards a tough task.

USC's porous run defense should be enough for our run game to be effective...especially on 1st down.

this is one game where i think we should be able to get good yardage on 1st down and allow us to choose whatever we want to do on offense on 2nd and 3rd down.

either way...just don't turn the ball over...and we should be fine.

I don't think that is accurate. According to ESPN.com, only one team has gotten more than 200 yds. rushing against them and that was Wofford with an unbelievable 290 yds. Georgia was close with 198. Everyone else had 138 or less. I still think we'll get 100+ yards on them though.

SC's run defense comes in at 79th in the nation, allowing 146.7 yards per game.

If they were giving up 266 yards per game, that would put them 11 yards worse than dead last Stanford right now.

Thats only going to happen if Cut and Fulmer dont give up on the running game too soon as they did against Alabama. I think we could have run the ball more and successfully.

Is that accurate? :eek:hmy: That's mind-boggling bad.
No that's not accurate. :) For whatever reason, I was looking at the "carries" number instead of the "yards".. That's what happens when they're ranked 79th and I can't see the category at the top because they're so far down. :birgits_giggle:

Anyway, I still think Foster has a good day against SC.

But they held on to a non-existant one against Florida and look what happened.
