The return of Blake Mitchell

I hesitated to even post this on here, but I find these numbers impressive. Please indulge the Gamecock Ambassador. At least I'm posting this in the Sports Forum.

Ever since Mitchell replaced Syvelle Newton in the second half of the Arkansas game, Mitchell is 60-82-1 for 876 yards and 6 TD's.

This is definitely not the Blake Mitchell that we saw at the beginning of the season. The O-line is offering a little more time than they did early on this year, but he has stepped up his play, too. I guess a few weeks riding the pine got his attention.

Sounds like Ainge was a man on a mission today. Those stats were pretty impressive.

I have to tell this story . . .

A few weeks ago, WCG calls me on his way out of the stadium after a great performance by Syvelle Newton and said something like "I think Blake Mitchell better get used to riding the pine." The next thing I hear is this long pause with some woman saying something inaudible but clearly intense. A few seconds later WCG comes back and says "80,000 people in this stadium and I'm 3 feet from Blake Mitchell's sister." :lol:

Guys, it was a surreal experience. Some little sorority sister turns to me and says in that sorority tone of voice, "Uh, that's Blake's sister!" Then homegirl turns around and it's Blake Mitchell with long hair. Needless to say, she wasn't in the mood to hear an objective point of view in regard to the quarterback position.

GAVol informed me yesterday that she is now officially looking for me. If we beat Clemson this weekend, I volunteer to wash and wax both of their cars! :mf_surrender:
