The rich (Alabama) get richer

Agree with this also. "The best ever..." labels irk me concerning most subjects. There are so many different facets to coaching as well as different circumstances to any such conversation.

Not really. How many college football coaches in the past say, 30 years, have a first round draft pick at almost every single position on both sides of the ball?

Yeah, it really is. Again, recruiting is the most important part of a coach's job description.

Again, I have reiterated for I don't know how many times, I am discussing the aspects of coaching regarding strategy, sideline decision making etc.

Not sure why you can't get this, never mind, I know why.

The damn buffoon started a guy for 14 games that could barely complete a bubble screen over one of the best passers in college football. His recruiting is so good, it compensates for that kind of stupidity.

Dude, Saban literally lost to him 3 times. Sorry that makes you shrivel up.

Hell, he pounded him at USC. What number 1 freaking team loses to effing USC?

So, Spurrier's record against Saban is relevant, but his record against Jones isn't? What about his 1-2 record against Mike Dubose?

You can't even keep up with your own argument. Again, saying "I'm talking about the aspects of coaching other than recruiting" is on par with "I'm talking about the aspects of boxing other than punching." You can be a really solid boxer without a decent jab, hook, or uppercut. But you will never be in the GOAT discussion.

No, I'm just not limited to having to accept your definition.

Recruiting in the sense we are discussing here can only happy at a certain few schools. Saban's skills would not be any less if he spent his entirety at East Carolina. But his results would be. He would still, posses the same abilities but would not get the same results.

What kind of coach loses to Butch Jones back to back in his first years at TN?

Also, what metrics are you using to judge the coaching abilities?

The same is true of Spurrier.

The kind that is an old man finishing out the string at a habitually loser football program.

Many and the understanding that timing, situations, etc. Are all so different that is makes it absurd to definitely say guy X is better than guy z.

Spurrier had 6 SEC titles, Saban has 5 or maybe 6 now?
