is always money. The motivation for corrupt refs fixing Bama’s games is clearly about greedy people getting richer, but can someone educate me on how this works? So the SEC makes a lot more $$$ if SEC teams make the playoffs, right? Ok I get that, but why is Bama so protected? They really aren’t that great of a team this year. We are the power players so motivated to protect Bama? Tennessee only had 1 loss going into yesterdays game just like Bama. Does the SEC think we are too risky to protect - we are more likely to slip up and lose again? Is it really just about protecting the few teams that have the easiest path to the playoffs? It can’t be about viewership or fans traveling. You can’t tell me that Bama travels better than UT or has more viewership. In fact, most people I know hate Bama and won’t even watch the playoffs if they are in it because they know they are corrupt. The first time Georgia played Bama in the championship, I think it was 2017- I still remember that there were several calls that clearly favored Bama. Towards the end of the game, Fromm got thrown on the ground well after the play was over. The ref was right there and refused to throw a flag (I don’t like GA either, but was amazed at this). Back to my question- why does everyone get richer when Bama wins and why is everyone so terrified to speak out against a tiny little man (Saban) and corrupt refs? Is the mob involved? Are lives being threatened? Why is a backwards, podunk state so powerful? How are they generating so much cash?

Money is not the root of all evil. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Big difference.

They are the most talented. By far. Look at recruiting class ranking. And they have the best CFB coach of all time. If they make it to playoff, chances are they winning.
Ok. That’s fair but how does that translate into more money for the SEC and whoever else is making $$$. Will more people watch if they make it to the Natty? I won’t. How much $$$ does the SEC make if our teams make it and/or win it all? Is this what it’s all about or is something else driving the need to fix games and protect Bama?

IMO they just want to be there. Which ever team is most likely to get them there is going to get the calls. UGA is somewhat down with Bowers. Bama has 5* at every position and Saban. The league can't risk not having at least 1 SEC team in the playoffs. That could interfere with the TV money.

Your conspiracy tinfoil hat crap needs to go man. Just accept it for what it is. We lost. Stop blaming the freaking refs. Refs didn’t cost us the game. Heupels bad coaching did and the fact that we lost to a better team.

I don’t think I said anything about the refs costing us the game. In fact, I posted this in another thread that I felt like the 2nd quarter play calling was atrocious and I would give Heupel an F for the game. However, if you believe the refs called a fair game for both sides and Alabama only had 1 real penalty, I’ve got some beachfront property to sell you out here in AZ. I guess I need to find that roll of Reynolds wrap and make myself a hat. I’m not the smartest guy in the world, but I know what I saw in yesterdays game and many others when Bama is playing (not just against TN). Just trying to have an honest conversation about WHY this happens.

There have been national articles published about the biased officiating during that game. They have been posted all over this message board in other threads. There is certainly enough blame to go around; however, it was a blatant and concerted effort by the officials to hinder Tennessee. The OP is correct to ask those questions, no tin foil required.

It's because people hate Bama. Bama is college football's perfect heel. It's why Lebron James is followed so much. Alabama generates so much money because they are so divisive. People watch Lebron to watch him lose, not to watch him win. People watch Bama to watch Bama lose, not win. Last year the entire country celebrated our victory over Bama, even our greatest enemies. It was a great story. It generated a ton of money. But you have to keep a heel a heel or folks don't tune in. You need someone who everyone believes cheats, who gets the calls, who drives the message boards. People like to bet against that stuff, they spend money to see that kingdom crumble. And, the more that heel gets propped up year after year, the more people will tune in to watch their downfall. I'm not sure football has been a truly competitive sport for some time now. That makes me really sad.

No there wasn’t a blatant effort to hinder us. If so, why did we dominate the first half and go in with a 20-7 lead? Let me guess, that was part of the plan right? Of this blatant effort that you claim actually exists, then show proof. Not the game because that’s not proof. Show something real.

If you cannot produce something tangible other than “watch the game” then put your tinfoil hat on and enjoy the ride.

Hmm. Very interesting theory. That actually makes sense. I have tuned into games before only for the purpose of watching a team I hate go down.

Here ya go bud... tangible, and the truth. This article cites examples. Let me guess, that won't be good enough for you will it? You are welcome to join us in reality at any time.

Tennessee lost to Alabama, but the Crimson Tide had a lot of help from officials and the SEC needs to address it

Love a to z sports. But again no it’s not enough. Tell me why the refs allowed us to dominate the first half and go in with a 20-7 halftime lead? I guess that was part of the refs plan right? Yeah that’s it. Their plan was let TN get a commanding lead going into the half and then just screw them. Yeah that makes total sense.

Keep believing in the boogeyman and making this fan base look dumb.

Lol. Bless your heart. I bet you argue with people that say the sky is blue. Sorry, I don't engage with self imposed ignorance. Good luck.

Our miscues turned the game from a comfortable Vol win into a rock fight. The refs made sure Bama won instead of risking us winning the rock fight. Simple as that.

On Bama touchdown the bama guy kicked the Tennessee player. Nothing was called. On the kickoff the Tennessee player at the 4 yard line just stuck his hands out to the side, The refs said he called for a fair catch, even though the other Tennessee player caught the ball and ran it to the 24 yard line. On a fair catch you raise your hands OVER your head to signal. Loss of 20 yards there. You could see Bamma O-line was holding the Vols pass rush and not one holding call. I know the Vols made mistakes, but that was one of the worst officiated games i have ever watched.

The refs didn't cost us the game, but they sure altered the momentum with timely no-calls and bad calls. Regardless, as it turns out, Heupel made some bad decisions after those momentum changes. We're 5-2 right now and still have a damn good chance for a NY's six bowl. We were not supposed to be as good this year, but we have a bunch of dumbass fans with unrealistic expectations who come on this forum and play the blame game as if the coaches and players have personally insulted them. Some even suggesting Heupel doesn't know who should be playing.

Mistakes happen when you’re getting completely jobbed as well. Hard to maintain mental focus when the refs are bending you over.
