Maybe this is me just catching up to everyone else's thoughts on the subject but we'll now see how good Sanders is or isnt in the next few weeks. You cant scrap and offense and start another in a situation like this(two hurt QB's)but you can make adjustments that will protect an unexpierienced qb from making a lotta mistakes by running plays out of formations that minimize his imput on the play. The vols are almost forced into 2 tight end power I smash mouth football to move the chains. And with Auburn looming on the horizon vandy and kentucky will make excellent opportunities to develope this in time to be effective. This is where riggs/houston need to be sat down and eye to eye explained to them that its on them to move the chains, same with the o line guys. :twocents:

Good point. But he can only prove that in the SECC. Beating Vandy and Uk with a 3rd string QB isn't saying a whole lot.

Just a few comments on RS. He has never played or coached football outside of the "Tennessee System", thus probably has little offensive training other than in our own conservative philosophy. That being said, RS is probably doing a pretty good job based on his data bank of knowlege. Final thought is that we will not likely know until the next douple of years, when he has solid and healthy talent, what his potential is. I beg CPF to take the reins off of him.

I agree.

If I see anymore of our RBs tip-toeing around in the backfield I'm going to get physically sick. I think our coaching staff needs to call out their manhood, and that of our O-line.

Now more than ever those guys need to get mean and physical. I wouldn't mind seeing Fulmer get back to his roots and spend time personally coaching the O-line.

I know Sanders has been the scapegoat of this team ever since he was hired. I don't think he has done a bad job this year. If we are gonna learn about anyone this year it's gonna be JRS. I still do no know why this guy is still on the staff. The play of our offensive line over the last three years since he got here is unacceptable.
