We looked soft. They even said that during the half time show. That is not something you can change. We either got grit or we don't. Not sure who it was that didn't even try to wrap up the guy on their first touchdown...but how does that happen?

With that said the officiating was oddly one sided in the second half. I never blame the game on officiating...but the calls that were and weren't made in the second half were some of the worst I've ever seen.

I didn't think any other aspect of the game was considerably concerning...other than the lack of toughness...which is terribly concerning.

People are too hard on Milton. He missed some (that's football) but also made some perfect throws.

I’m most concerned by the coaching. Offensive play calling has been awful this season. Tim banks is in over his head. Willie Martinez needs to get fired as well. The team looks unprepared and undisciplined, so many stupid penalties. Clock management was bad. And on and on..

No question some guys look soft. There are guys who play hard… Bru brings it on every play and Squirrel plays hard. But Hadden hip checking the RB on the run that led to the first TD and Thornton getting outmuscled by a smaller DB on a deep ball are not acceptable. Not saying anything that hasn’t already been said but if guys out there are not willing to bite down on the mouth guard and get after it the staff needs to put them on the bench

Trash AF. Joe is garbage. I take back all those nice statements I made on Hadden. Dude literally tried to bump guy on the first score. Poor tackling just garbage. Bama, Georgia, A&M, will man handle this team.

I don't think we are soft - granted our backup center looks a little softer than our starter. We beat the crap out of them the second half - they were constantly holding us on both offense and defense. We seem to be lacking in both leadership and energy. We need to right the ship.

TBF, that was a PI on the db against Thornton.

If we have one of the most prolific qbs in college football, why was the offense so run heavy? I knew we would try it early to keep them honest but we never left the run game even when it was obvious it wasn’t working.

Kind of topic, but I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen from Castles. That guy has grit. Him and Bru. I wish some of that would rub off on the rest of the players.
Meh, he whiffed on quite a few extra protection blocks. And if he uses his hands to block the guy instead of putting his shoulder near the head, i don't think they call the crackback block that killed our momentum late in the game. All he really needs to do there is get between him and Small. I still think it was a BS call, but he gave them part of the formula for calling it by lowering his shoulder into a player looking the other way.

They all have to get way better in a hurry, especially pass blocking.

I should’ve clarified when he has the ball in his hands.

I keep saying, the OC left so there is something going on with the play calling, timing etc... Last night it cost of us a bunch of time outs, missed 4th downs, etc....Alex Golesh is being missed by JH right now.

I’ve said the same. Something has happened. I blamed it on overlooking Peay, but this was largely the same. I counted three times the OL made initial block then stood up and watched RB fighting and when he didn’t go down there reflexes into “crap we better push the pile he’s not down yet!” They’d given up on the run before the back was down. To me that is an enormous red flag.

Agreed. We can play better than we did last night but most of the issues we saw can’t be fixed mid season.
