Im sick of all these people on here goin around posting that our season is over. There is still alot to salvage out there even though we are probably out of the sec race. theres still bama to beat along with the rest of our opponents, a good bowl to earn a bid to, and get a respectable ranking in the polls. For all of y'all out there that have nothing better to do than cry in your beer(you know who u are) get over it. You guys are supposed to support this team no matter what. And i say most of y'all are doin a pretty piss poor job as far as that goes. Go vols. Beat Bama!

In reply to that Duck, alot of us have said things badly about our team and program,I included.I don't think any of us really want to give up on our team but it just seems to get old when you hear all the hype about being a top notched team and then not producing. It's part of the game and part of the emotion,we are human,we are allowed to feel.

The season is over...for people who lack character. When there is nothing to play for except pride is when you find out who the real winners are!

Or in your case you find out who the consolation prize winners are. :birgits_giggle:

The season is far from over...Our National Championship hopes are pretty much gone, but we still have a season left to play. We can still run the table and end up in a pretty good bowl. All these "fair-weather" fans need to stop complaining. We d have the hardest schedule in the NCAA in my opinion, with Penn State being 2nd.

The only thing the players can salvage is their chances at Pro careers. The rest will cash it in.

What difference does it really make if we finish 3rd or 4th in the SEC east?

It doesn't. I said only the players with opportunities to play on the next level will not quit. Everyone else is done.

I wouldn't quite give up on the season just yet. You never know UF could lose one of these two upcoming games. Its gonna be tough for us to win those games.

If we lose to LSU, hopefully UGA would lose to Auburn.

I'll still be watching if we loose every game from now through Kentucky. Rooting for the Vols has given me alot of pleasure through the years and one so-so season is not going to change that.

RALLY TIME!!

I can tell neither of you played competitive sports. And, if you did then all I can say is thank God I didn't coach you. The UT football team has players with character and pride and competitiveness. Those players will continue to get after it because they don't like to lose at anything, no matter what the stakes are; National Championship or 4th place in the SEC. I can guarantee you players like Rob Smith will do absolutely everything he can to win every game we play for the rest of the year and it has nothing to do with impressing NFL scouts. Its called having the character of a competitior.

That has to be the saddest most pathetic post I have ever read, how can you even imagine that they would quit, the quitters Ican see are some of the fans around here you included.

Well you would be wrong, I did play high school football and obviously you wouldnt be much of a coach if you put down your players the way you flame people in here.

Me put down players? Yeah, thats intelligent since you are one who is saying the players are done and have given up. You are the one putting down the players and chastising their heart and character. And, I feel sorry for your coach in high school. It burns me up when I have players that carry your type of attitude onto the court.

Look at your own attitude. You expect anyone to believe you wouldnt do the same thing as a coach as you do in here (flame people)? The person going on the court (field??) with an attitude problem is you.

The only thing I said was what is the difference between finishing 3rd or 4th in the sec east. Instead of accusing me of putting down players hearts or character why dont you actually read what people are posting, instead of what you want to flame them for?

last i heard oklavol maybe fullmer gets a payraise if he finishes 3rd instead of 4th. it is possible. nothing surprises me with hamilton, but to me there is no difference whether you finish 3rd or last your not going anywhere. except maybe to the peach bowl. you start the year with one goal to win the sec, even fullmer has stated that. it's just a shame he can't actually do it.

I wince as I type this.

Is it not pretty much universally accepted that the D gave up at the end of the GA game? And YES, I know they were exhausted. I'm not faulting them.

I admire players AND fans who won't quit, but it's a tad unrealistic to think they're all like that.

I say if we beat BAMA we are in it Big Time. Beating a defense like that will prove we can go against any.... it just has to be our day if its not you will see effort go straight out the door with the players.

We havea right to be pissed. They sell us a product we expect favorable results as they led us to believe. Our tax dollars pay CPF and his staff and they answer to us. Shouldnt you if 2 million is paid to you via tax revenues? I didnt want to waste my time preseason from Fulmer that he wanted to start a qb that has the best chance taking them to Rose Bowl. Now that is lofty expectations that the coach instilling upon us. If he told us, "well i think we will be competetive and this could be a rebuilding year for our offense" I would understand. There is problem and breadown somewhere. If the coaches thought they were that talented and it is quite the opposite there is something wrong here. And when they are near the bottom in NCAA in total offense and scoring with 2 losses after 5 games, you damn right i am pissed. If the coaches can not remedy the situation then change is desired.
