But you knew that already. Remember the mid-2000s when it wasn't this way?

-No undefeated teams; 5 in West
-2 ranked teams; 6 in West
-1 loss to Indiana
-1 loss to Temple
-1 obliteration at the hands of the West's 3rd or 4th-best team
-1 obliteration at the hands of the West's best team while getting outgained by 448 yards
-1 Vanderbilt

I mean, is it really that insane for Tennessee to finish 3rd in the East at 4-4? This division blows.

I agree. The East isn't very good. I wouldn't want to be Ark and have to play:

Bama
Auburn
Miss St
Ole Miss
aTm
LSU

DAMN!

Arkansas could be 6-6 and in last place and get a Bowl game. The Independence Bowl would love to have them.

The east is fine, and easily as competitive as most conference divisions. Georgia, florida, SC, ourselves, mizzou, and even Kentucky can can compete with most teams on any given day. The west is just friggin loaded. Everyone on their side less arky has a chance to be in the playoff.

East is pretty bad. Still better than most other conferences but for SEC standards, we bad.

East isn't terrible bad, just a lot more parity with a few teams taking a step back (UGA, USCjr, Mizzou), a couple taking steps forward (UT, UK). I thought UF would have been better, but they are lucky to be 1-1 in the sec.

Winner will get pounded by whichever West team they meet.

Arky could finish in the top 3 of the east.

When people are talking about Ga, SC, Tn, Fla and Mizzou as being the weak links in a conference that conference is crazy good.

Just let it play out some more. I imagine a few of the east will beat a few of those juggernauts in the west. I can't really tell. We have had fla play Bama and they laid an egg. Tam got the bad usc in first game. I admit that it's not looking good for the east.

No, we don't. We want Missouri and Vanderbilt to get back to their winning ways so that recruits will want to come to Tennessee. SEC! SEC!

I want:

UT to be great
UF,UGA,USC and UK to be mediocre
Missouri and Vanderbilt to fight it out for last

Problem with the East is two powerhouses (Tn and Fla) hired Saban-gofers as head coaches and both have or will severely damage those programs. Uga is content to play richt ball (9-3 most yrs winning a meaningless bowl game), sc and mizz are as good as they can be which isnt good enough and uk and vandy wont cheat like Ole Miss and miss state will.

We are already tied for 3rd in the East. I see no way we don't finish the season without an SEC Championship. Logically, there's no way around it.
