The SEC is down, but still the best conference.

While the SEC remains the top conference top to bottom in college football, it is definitely in a down cycle and will never be what it was a few years ago again. "secfans" of course continue to believe that Kentucky could beat almost anybody. There are no great teams in college fooball. If their are, they don't reside in the SEC.

Bull-Lony! Another one of those, "chicken littles" here. When your team is down, that in itself takes the stiff wind out of one's sail. Hard to be positive watching your favorite team get curb-stomped. We are half way through the schedule, keep your remote close, it's gonna get intense from here on out. The SEC will be just fine. Everyone else, not so much.

What are you talking about. I am not an SEC fan. I'm a Tennessee fan. Tennessee is a small part of the topic of this thread.

Thus the demise of your football team at this juncture of a still young season has got you thinking thoughts of chaos, confusion and anarchy that will keep you amused. It's your classic rule or ruin mentality. Threads like this are really a call for help.

For the first time in history, a conference has 8 teams ranked in the top 25, beating the previous record of 7. Both records are held by the SEC.

7's been held by 3 conferences though hasn't it?

Edit: yep

The record for most teams from one conference in a regular-season poll had been seven, done many times, including this season by the SEC. The ACC and Big Ten have also reached seven ranked teams in season.

Who cares? I don't root for the SEC, just UT. All the other teams could lose every game for all I care.
