I am glad that Arkansas has joined the conference, but not South Carolina. Arkansas is a team with decent history from a very good conference in the SWC. Their fans are knowledgable and respectful and aren't jerk-offs. However, I wish that SC would take their idiot fans that think they are God's gift to college football and take their jackass coach and their hippie QB they had back in the early '90's by the name of Taneyhill (sp) and go back to whatever hole they crawled out of.
I lost all respect after South Carolina after the 2005 game. Me and my girlfriend had tickets given to us in the SC section in the lower level. We were enjoying the game and were having very civilized conversation with them before the game. When the game kicked off they were cussing and calling names and anything else you can think of. When it was apparent they we had lost (about 1:00 to go) I decided to go ahead and scoot on out to avoid any unwanted situation since I had the gf with me. As we were leaving, they started yelling that it was about time to get that b*tch gf of mine out of there. I proceded to turn around and march back up the steps before I was stopped by a usher, ut fan, and my gf. So now all SC fans can kiss my :moon2: . :finger3:So how do you REALLY feel about Carolina?![]()
I agree 100%. Was the SEC actually trying to get FSU?Arkansas brought several good athletic programs to the SEC (football, track, and formerly basketball). I think SC was just convenient program to plug in to balance the Arkansas addition when Bowden vetoed FSU joining the SEC. Has SC won a SEC title in any sport?
They have a great baseball program and a respectable basketball program. As far as SEC titles I'm not sure.
You can't argue that SC has one of the most supportive fan bases in the country. I know many SC fans that are extremely knowledgable about CFB. Both teams have had some competitive teams. Both teams were great additions to the conference.
I wish we could get 2 more, VA Tech and WVU. Maybe someone from NC. At least 1 team from every southeastern state.
Wasn't it a couple of years ago that Vandy contemplated dropping football as a varsity sport? Right around the time of the whole Big East/ACC changes?
