Ok guys after watching up to this point in the season I have noticed a marked improvement in our secondary when everyone is healthy. I have also seen guys that were forced into action due to injury step up big time! Kentucky game 2 guys really stood out to me that hadn’t had a huge impact this year. That’s Doneiko Slaughter and Wesley Walker. Slaughter was laying the lumber and he was picking a pass off and playing about as solid at CB as anybody this season. Wesley Walker my man! He was reading those lateral passes and knocking guys back for a loss nearly every time. Jaylen being back setting up our secondary was huge. Brandon Turnage played a great game, Flowers played good in coverage and in the run game, and the secondary as a whole just took all the slander against them personally this past week! I am a Willie Martinez critic, but he has done such a good job with the current roster of Secondary players. As far as I know we return most of these guys next year other than Flowers. I think Jaylen has a Covid year and I think everyone else is going to have a chance to return. We will be adding depth no doubt too. I think next year our secondary will potentially go from being a major weakness to a pretty good strength. Good guys returning and some solid prospects coming in. I love what I’m seeing from this coaching staff and these players that have bought in! GO BIG ORANGE!!!

The secondary is highly dependent on rush pressure. In the Kentucky game the pressure on the quarterback was vastly improved and as a result the secondary did a terrific job.
