What a load of crap. One sided crap. I have got 3 kids in HS. I cannot afford to send them to college, which means they will have to get student loans and whatever grant money we can scrape up. This article totally refuses to aknowledge what a free college education is worth. If they don't take advantage of it then they are stupid. I do not feel sorry for the "student-athletes" they are in essense working for their education.

When I was at UT on the work study program, I made a little spending money that way. I think paying the players for required practice, workout, game time, etc. at that rate would be reasonable. It wasn't much money, however it did give me a little spending cash.

Epic article. Right on all counts.

Funny that it takes a history writer to articulate what thousands of sports journalist cannot...
