Interesting read (albeit on an indie site), on both Socialism and Communism, including:

The Differences Between the Two: The Six Shared Truths (and how they struggle to differentiate their beliefs, even amongst themselves...but a good rule of thumb is to see socialism as HIV, and communism as AIDS)

How they both strive for and lead to total compensatory equality - and that total is ZERO.

How the middle-class - or as Marx called it, "the petite bourgeois" - ruins both theories (and why its under attack in America?).

Examples of how both systems lead to, "The Bad on Top" whereby a small, elite ruling class must use a controlling state to squelch free will and dissent. A few examples being:
Josef Stalin, Soviet Union
Pol Pot, Kmehr Rouge
Adolph Hitler, Germany under the National Socialist German Workers Party (nazi in short)
Leonid Brezhnev, Soviet Union
Fidel Castro, Cuba
Mao Zedong, China
Kim Il Sung, North Korea
Tito, Yugoslavia
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Huey P. Long, communist leaning governor of Louisiana in the 30's famous for 'removing' opposition

The HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS who have died beneath socialist / communist rule (i.e. Russia, China, Cambodia, Nazi Germany), etc.

How every communist or socialist society has FAILED including Cuba, Soviet Union, Nicaragua, N. Korea. (But please don't be deterred by this. Give it a try.)

And best of all: A look at the Modern Socialist / Communist, including these gems:

Poser Commies: Possibly accounting for over 90% of the people who claim to be socialists or communists, the poser commie movement is typically followed by those of younger age groups. Most who follow this movement tend to adopt socialism for the sole purpose of social deviance and protest of society's values. In other words, they hear that communism conflicts with freedom, morality, and other mainstream societal values so they claim to be communists to protest exactly such.

Socialist and Communist Ideologue Movement:
Typically comprised of those who have extensively studied Marx, Lenin, and Trotsky's writings (and often little more), this movement rarely acknowledges the dismal failures of the communist and socialist philosophies when instituted in practice. Often claiming "True communism has never really been instituted" and insisting that if it were, it would work, the ideologue movement often follows utopian dreams rather than recognizing the flaws of reality.

Demagogue Movement:
This small movement is mostly limited to those who seek to use communism and socialism as a facade for achieving power. Many of histories great communist dictators such as Stalin and Castro are perfect examples of demagogues. Quoting communist theories while working their way to power behind the scenes, demagogues often prove extremely tyrannical when finally on top. The demagogue movement is in its own right an uninvited and unwanted branch of communism/socialism that draws to the theory inevitably for communism and socialism often entail wide, unchecked power consolidated in a very defined few plus a resulting need to encroach upon freedom and liberty, as is inherently necessary for implementation of communist and socialist systems.
Old Guard Communist Movement:
The Old Guard Communist Movement is typically a reactionary one comprised of Soviet Union leftovers. Endorsing a return to old Soviet way, though in reality that way was a disastrous failure, as a solution to transition problems in the economies of former Soviet states has become a rallying cry for the Old Guard Movement.

With all of LG / UTGibbs (curiously linked in the cortex of most people's minds) blabbering nonsense of late, I thought that this might prove somewhat helpful, if only as a means to cleanse your ocular palates.

Forget the Mao White House Christmas tree ornament, dig this:

Anti-American propaganda tune played at White House by Chinese pianist - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.com

At the White House State dinner on Jan. 19, about six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began tapping out a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”

The film depicts a group of “People’s Volunteer Army” soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military “jackals.”

The movie and the song has been used as anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communists for decades.

No doubt Barry applauded louder than anyone.

Ya, the youth totally rebel against freedom.

If you required and weighed the same types of evidences in sociopolitical affairs as you do in theology and science, you might see things differently.

Failing that, you're doing little more than picking and choosing which facts to believe, ignore or value (oh, the Christians you've nailed for doing the exact same thing). That makes you little more than UTGibbs and / or LG, but with a broader vocabulary, and a likeable personality.

Young Communist League targets children in 'Red School Bus Tour' - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.com

Now, thanks to the Southern California Young Communist League (YCL), a branch of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), little red school buses may be coming to your neighborhood.

But they won't be teaching your children Bible lessons, or courses in American history that highlight the freedom we have and those who died to protect it.

They'll be teaching your children the wonders of communism and socialism.

According to an article at The Blaze, the "National Red School-Bus Tour" will make stops in Los Angeles, Texas, Florida, and the Northeast between February and April.

I'm guessing these will all be short buses.

Two other even larger orgs:

Youth for International Socialism - Youth for International Socialism

Youth for International Socialism is a group of workers and youth that fight for the end of capitalism, and for democratic socialism, as explained by the ideas of genuine Marxism. We have links worldwide, and are in political solidarity with the ideas of the International Marxist Tendency presented at the In Defence of Marxism website (In Defence of Marxism). We are Marxists in the tradition of Marx and Engels, and as continued by Lenin and Trotsky.

Socialist Appeal - Home

The link above is put up by WIL, Workers International League.

Not to even mention the SEIU, New Panthers and other marxist groups working in the USA many of whom have been elevated to high postions of authority by the illustrous Barry Soetoro who is a marxist of the first order.

Its obviously the godless heathenism of communism/socialism that is to blame, not the political ideology.

tell me of my sociopolitical views, since you seem to know them. Show me my error.

Some, not all.

I proclaim that considering I am a member of the "youth" group.
No argument against that, but it definitely makes questionnaire data very sketchy.

Reading here, it seems few ha e spent time getting pounded by professors about the quality of their data.

I don't really see a disliking for the government or American authority, rather most are apolitical. I could honestly name a large list of people who voted for certain individuals because they were cool, black, or not black. Rather than pay attention to the Dow Jones and Congress, most are looking forward to Snooky and COD. Few have spent time getting pounded by professors, because the professors could care very little about the actual progress of their students. Outside of a few, genuine professors and institutions, a great deal of professors are effectively diluting society (volinbham) kidding.

Young people tend to go democratic because they understand social issues more than economical issues. That leads them to be very passionate about social issues which generally tends to be liberal.

Polish board game recalls communist hardship - Yahoo! News

Poland's state-run National Remembrance Institute has created the new game — called "Kolejka," which means queue or line — to help young Poles understand the hardships of life under communism.
------------------------------

"We want to show young people and remind the older ones what hard times these were and what mechanisms were at play," said Karol Madaj, the game's creator.
