A&R wouldn't make #4 in Memphis for me let alone the entire south. And any list that doesn't include the Germantown Commissary and Central BBQ should be thrown away.

What is the blue BBQ place in Memphis that was on Diners. Drive Ins, and Dives? I used to love their BBQ baloney sandwich

Peg Leg and Martin's should have been higher, maybe. At least they made the list.

The place that's been voted number one in Nashville for the past three years didn't make the list, ironically.

The fact that Central BBQ or The Commissary aren't on there nullifies the entire list. Bozo's is not better than either of those, from experience.

I'm guessing what's on the list is on the list because of some form of quid-pro-quo

Couch's? Interesting choice...

yeah, went there once, never again.

that being said I have been to 4 of those places, Rendezvous, Couch's, Lexington BBQ and Old Brick Pit. I may have been to a couple of the hole in the wall places and just can't remember. I also think I have been to one of the Texas places that was a chain, just not the location they talked about.

What? No Melvin's or Maurice's?

I'll hit Sonny Bryan's today for lunch with the pig out platter, which is good but what I would really love is a pound of East Carolina pork BBQ and a bunch of hush puppies.
