Just reading between the lines here, but these are girls Pat could have signed to nplay at UT imo.

Riverdale (6-0) plays at Blackman (4-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a showdown between the past four Class AAA girls state championship winners. Riverdale won in 2012 and 2013. Blackman has won the past two.

Blackman enters the game on a 54-game win streak against in-state opponents and has a 31-game win streak against District 7-AAA foes.

While Hayes hasn't committed, she currently has several Division I offers including Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, MTSU, Ohio State and Ole Miss. Hayes will likely be given the task of slowing down Connecticut signee Crystal Dangerfield, who is rated as the top point guard in the country for the Class of 2016.

That shouldn't happen, and likely wouldn't under Pat. Holly BY Golly doesn't have the IT factor and we are slowly ebbing downhill. IT SPEAKS VOLUMES THAT HOLLY NEVER GOT A BIG TIME OFFER ELSEWHERE.

These are just my two cents after not seeing the game on Sunday, only reading about how quickly things seem to be unraveling.

The coaches have a lot of responsibility for the current situation. For a program that always seems to stress defense, it sounds like a single VT shooter managed to get several uncontested shots. Good execution or poor defense? What seems troubling to me is the lack of in game adjustments being made when things don't go as planned. Every team has bad nights on offense and defense. However, this is where coaching and teaching come into play. I will never sit in a Lady Vol huddle or coaches discussion, but it would be interesting to know what was going on in their brains to try and stop the bleeding.

The players have their share of blame as well. High school all americans or not, these ladies still have to play fundamental basketball and ultimately put the ball in the net. Some of these ladies haven't shot well all season. VT and Texas don't sound like bad teams, but these problems are not showing up against the likes of UConn, ND, Baylor. Those schools are where the LVs were a few years back and want to be again. I honestly thought the current roster would be good enough to play with anyone but UConn. Ladies, use those brains and athletic talents to work on your shooting and figure out how to play with one another if you want to win.

The season isn't over. I truly hope the ship gets turned around and quickly. Honestly speaking, this roster appears to have no one outside of Diamond who can put more than 10 points on the board on a given night.

It's is a pure disgrace that a team with so much talent appears to be so unprepared to face their opponents. They can't shoot, pass, defend or do much else. I am not being rude or callus but any grain of effective coaching or leadership would be a great improvement.

Passing, shooting, gameplan is all on the head coach. Even fans can see that Reynolds, Cooper, and a couple others have very bad shooting form yet they have the green light to put up threes and shots that appear out of their range for a decent percentage. They occasionally hit one but overall percentage is what matters. We got outscored 27 to 3 at the three point line versus Va. Tech and has been what has happened most of this season.
Passes are telegraphed and easily stolen we most of the time look right at the player we are passing to or we lob it to them and opponents get in the passing lanes.

The gameplan seems to be non-existent because if a team lives off three point shooters why are we guarding the post with four players. Our team is easily out maneuvered on defense for open three shots.
The team is a wreck and has to many bad habits to fix in a season.
Massey now has us 19 and 10 for the season before it began we were 26 and 3 so they think were seven games worse after our first eight games and I think they are right.

When Holly was hired, I was happy she was given the chance to take over the program. I think she deserved the opportunity. The program had declined some in Pat's final years and I was hoping Holly had some new ideas the program really needed, specifically on offense to take on the top teams. Well, it appears that she doesn't. It's early in the season so there's time for her to get this group to mesh and mold them into a good team. But I'm losing hope that Holly is the one to make us competitive with UConn again.
