After seeing more ties added to the state of Georgia, with Chuck Smith getting the DL coach job, that gives us 3 coaches with possible DEEP ties to the Peach State. There is no doubt in my mind, that we will raid that state next year. Mark Richt, you better keep your bicycle put up, because Tennessee will be in your back yard and steal that thing if your not careful. It's going to be exciting to watch that state throughout the year.

Coaches with ties to the Peach State....

Derek Dooley - HC
Lance Thompson - LB
Chuck Smith - DL

I would love to get Crowell I think that guy is dynamic.

If we landed Crowell, Mark Richt should be fired. As much Kool-Aid as I drank before I started this thread, that guy is a virtual lock to UGA. Stealing him would make Dooley a hated man by UGA fans, IMO.

Well we just stole a big recruit from Richt this year so why not Crowell? There is a long time between now and NSD next year.

Ut will always recruit GA. You guys are talking like its a new thing. They have to. However while plenty of your coaches have ties to GA, I am not sure Derek Dooley's are as strong as you guys might suspect. He has been in Louisiana for longer and you guys are right that he would have step up out there. First of all, GA high school coaches are coming in from all over and there is high turnover so the guys that actually knew Vince personally are few and far between and well, of the guys that would have been persuaded by the Dooley name, UT just severely pissed off one. Second, just from following GA recruiting for a while, I think depth charts are going to play a larger role in the upcoming battles more so than anything else.

Personally, I think UT regresses this year. They are breaking in a new QB without an Ol and a pretty thin DL. Yes, UT has some superb skill players, but that doesn't always translate without the lines to match. UGA also has a question mark at QB, but otherwise return the entire offense, including a deep OL. The starting DTs are gone, but the guys behind them have been logging in game minutes for a while. Not sure how quickly the guys will adapt to the 3-4, but I know UGA has plenty of the athletic guys for that OLB spot.
