:biggrin2: Press Release from the UT Hockey Website:
The Tennessee Hockey team made their first trip to The Swamp since 1999 as part of a Fall Break Florida road trip. Tennessee dominated the Gators, winning 10-2 while firing 66 shots on goal. They also defeated South Florida, a perrenial top 5 ranked team, 5-2 on the trip before returning to Knoxville.
In their three wins, a resurgent Ice Vols offense has fired 148 shots on goal, and are outscoring their opponents 18-6.
The Ice Vols (3-0) are off to their best start since 1996, and have 6 of their next 9 games at home. They also enjoy a somewhat easy schedule during the next few weeks taking on South Carolina, North Carolina, Duke, South Florida, Southern Indiana, and Vanderbilt in that time. There is a very good possibility the team could be 11-0 heading into a November weekend showdown with another perennial top ranked team, Texas.
The Ice Vols are the only undefeated team left in the new Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference (SECHC), with Georgia, Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, MTSU, and Kennesaw State all suffering early season losses. Tennessee is also one of only three northern region teams that are still undefeated along with Wright State and Case Western Reserve University.
