Always love it when the seniors win on their special day. Great group of seniors who have represented their university with class. Not one off court incident (sans McRae's freshman outburst on the team bus), not one brush with authorities, and loyalty despite an ugly divorce with between their former coach and the school they represent. That had to be hard for them. To the game...

1. Defense, defense, defense. It comes as no surprise to me that the past three victories have started with elite level defense. We aren't beating teams. We are annihilating teams.

2. It has started with defense, but the offensive tempo and fluidity are so much more improved than a month ago. The team (and coaches) seemingly 'get it' now. A special season was a real possibility had they bought in earlier, but they are peaking at the right time, and that is huge. They just need to keep it up into the SECT.

3. Seniors carried the load today. Love seeing that. This team is experienced, and it's great to see that becoming an advantage when it seemed like it was a wasted advantage earlier this season.

4. This team goes as Antonio Barton goes. He has been so much more involved recently than he was earlier this year. He really makes this team go when he's allowed to, and that shot is sooo sweet.

5. Stokes=manchild.

6. CCM has really earned his stripes in the last four games. He has decided to change things up when what he had planned didn't work. He finally decided that a strict, predictable man-to-man defense wasn't effective, and mixed in the zone. He let his team push the tempo. He took the reins off his PG. For a much maligned coach, he has pushed all the right buttons recently.

7. The focus and effort must continue. We can't assume the work is done and roll into Atlanta and coast. Keep the foot on the gas.

8. We have a killer instinct that we have lacked the past couple seasons where we tended to play down to our competition. When we would get up early in the past, we seemed to allow teams to creep back into games. Now we are putting our foot on their throat. That comes with experience and leadership.

9. JRich needs some recognition. His defense is almost always good, but in the past three games, it has been next level. No one should want to face him right now.

10. Competition aside, we have beaten three straight conference teams by an average of 30 points. We averaged 76 points, and gave up an average of 46. Let that sink in.

On to Atlanta...Go Vols!

I'll be there in Atlanta cheering on my bios. This is the first time I've bent to the sec tournament is it pretty cool in the Georgia dome?

Today was the first game I've been able to make it to all season. We're really playing some strong basketball right now...some of the best we've played in a long time. Snag one win in the SECT and carry it into the NCAAT, and we might be able to make a little noise.

Shout out to the younger guys.. The more I see of reese/moore/thompson the better I feel about next year. Develop All 3 of those guys' shots and we'll be hard to defend. Moore is a man child, Reese is a team player/hustler and Thompson has awesome vision. All 3 show potential to shoot the 3

Jrich playing like a guy who could average 4 points in the NBA and still find a roster for his defense.

I'm not a huge fan of it from a viewing perspective. You can be a long way from the court.

Great game. If we would have seen this all season, I'd be driving Cuonzo's bandwagon. It's so frustrating seeing this team play at this level NOW. We should be a 3 or 4 seed in the tourney.

But at least they're peaking at the right time. Win the SEC tourney and erase all doubt.

Props, CNC. That got me pumped just reading it, honestly.

Thanks. As disappointing as this season has been at times, winning the SEC tourney for the first time since the year I was born would really remove the sting of what could have been.

I'm not saying probable, or even likely. I'm fully aware of our history there, but I think the light has come on at just the right time, and moreso than any other year in recent memory, I think we have a chance to make some noise down there.

That said, we very possibly get beat in game 1. We need to continue the defensive dominance and intensity, and not fall in love with ourselves and our press clippings. The chip on their shoulder approach has worked. Keep playing like each game is your last.

We come out w/ defense like clearly displayed in the last three, we don't lose that first game. We win it big. Honestly, I don't think there's a team in the tourney that can beat us when we bring that defense, sans Florida. Them, I'm not sure about, but eagerly anticipate the matchup.

It looked like we were wearing a new uni. Was that the case or am I just blind?

We were wearing a new uniform, surprised it wasn't talked about.

Not sure why we switched UT orange with neon orange.. It looked really ugly on the white uniforms.

Unlike football, it's all about peaking at the right time. I might add, Maymon not throwing up a lot of wild shots lately has helped also.

I was at that game in Birmingham.....(championship game) we use to beat Kentucky with some regularity and it was fun to yell at Kyle Macy Back in those days, we were truly a basketball school, I started with Ernie and Bernie my favorite Michael Jackson along with Johnny Darden, moved on to Reggie Johnson and Dale Ellis and finnished with Howard Wood the Dancing Bear and Bert Bertlekamp.....not alot of NC2A success but a great basketball enviroment with many wins in Stokley Athletic Center
