The Titans need a ton of help to make the playoffs, and Jax winning is not one of them.

The Titans won't make the playoffs, but at least they won't be under 500. If you told me that before the year, I would have been surprised.

Ehh - it's pretty much over. Cleveland got bailed out with the weather as well as Jacksonville so there really isn't much of a chance...

Who does Cleveland have the next 2 weeks? Cupcakes like Baltimore?

So the Oilers beat a crappy KC team and they're back on track? :birgits_giggle:

Not sure why it's always been so funny to call them the Oilers. If Satan and the demons moved their baseball franchise to Knoxville and turned them into the Knoxville Volunteers, I'd have season tickets so fast..

I wish they'd let Young just create. Live by the sword, die by the sword you know. He will always be at best an average Pocket passer.

Any team that can only pruduce 6 points against the Bengals putrid defense only 3 weeks is not "back on track"

I know KC stinks(lost 7/8 in a row), but still we are winning again, so I'll take what we can get!

Without Albert and Chris Hope, this defense is defenseless. I think Hope is out for the season, but if Albert's hammy is 100% by Indy there is still a glimmer...

You know as well as I do that the Titans were inside the Bengals 10 yard line atleast 10 plus times... it's just that our redzone offense can really suck - especially with all of our injuries we've had including that game.

That's because VY is no good and I used to think he was going to be great...

Eh - I wouldn't go that far... it's his 2nd year and he's looked average but still has shown some stuff.. I'm not going to judge him after two years.

The main problem is the Titan's have a 260-pound RB trying to hit the hole... and it closes before he even gets the handoff. The fatboy is so slow we can't get any yards when teams concentrate on the run...

Even Chris Brown is better than White at times... atleast Chris Henry comes back this week but probably won't play.

Say the Titans finish 10-6 and so do the Browns... does Cleveland get in? Back when the Titans and Browns were both at 7-5 they had Cleveland in the 2nd wildcard spot over the Titans...

What's the tiebreaker?

The Titans can easily finish 10-6 since they have NYJ then Indy... who will probably sit their players knowing Dungy if they have the 2nd playoff spot locked up.

too bad they don't give out point for trips inside the red zone.

Right, because we all know that 2nd year QB's with no weapons around them reach full potential in year 2.

I've seen all I need to see to know that he will never lead his team to a Super Bowl. Him making the Pro-Bowl last year was a flash in the pan.

Again, to write VY off in his 2nd season is ridiculous. With few exceptions it takes NFL QB's at least 3 full seasons to develop. Couple that with the fact that VY has a joke of a WR core to toss through and there you have it.....give him time.

Saw this today...
Here are scenarios the Titans would need with a 10-6 finish to continue their season into January.
The easiest road would be for the Bengals to defeat the Browns this Sunday in Cincinnati, which would put Tennessee in control of its own destiny going into the final week. Cleveland closes with San Francisco, an NFC team, and a win over the Bengals gives the Browns a tiebreaker edge on the Titans by virtue of conference wins.
If the Browns defeat the Bengals, Cleveland would clinch a playoff spot, but the Titans would not be eliminated. They can pull for the floundering Baltimore Ravens, their old rivals, to defeat the Steelers on the season’s final weekend and force a tie with Pittsburgh. In that case, the Titans would also need Cleveland to defeat San Francisco to claim the AFC North title and allow Tennessee to grab the wild card over the Steelers.
Tennessee’s final road into the playoffs is to have Jacksonville lose Sunday against Oakland and the final week at Houston. That would leave the Titans getting into the postseason over the Jaguars on the strength of a better mark within the AFC South.

We can argue about it all we want, but VY wil never be a drop back passer. Let him be what he is. If that means only having him for 5 good years then let's do it. I don't think we'll ever win a Super Bowl with him as qb, but they're the ones that chose him (some may say for marketing reason more than ability), so let's use what we got.

I don't know that he will be great, I just know it is too early to write him off. How many QB's show that they are going to be great in year 2? As far as this year goes, VY has improved his completion % by 10%. It would be greater if not for constant dropped passes. He has made plenty of bad decisions this year but he has shown progression as a quarterback. You have to remember that he came out a year early, had never taken snaps from under center, and has one of the worst WR cores in the NFL. Is he going to be great? I don't know but I do know that he is progressing and until the progression stops you cannot say he will be a bust.
