My biggest concern this offseason (aside from Kicker) is acquiring OLine and DLine talent that can contribute early. I truly believe this can make or break the 2010 season. I think we'll be fine for 2011 and beyond, but we need strength up front on both sides of the ball. As I understand it, we currently have committed on the OLine, the following:

OT-JuWaun James
OT-Marques Pair
OG-Zach Fulton

In addition we are in play for a JuCo OG and Chaz Green. Anyone else we have a legit shot at? Also, rankings aside, which of these candidates have the best chance to see major playing time and/or make an immediate impact?

On the DLine, we have:

DT-John Brown (JuCo)
DE-JC Copeland
DE-Jacques Smith
DE-Corey Miller

Now I understand big things are expected at DE, even w/ Willis moving on. But how about DT? Any way we land any surprises?

Arie Kouandjio is a very exciting prospect who is visiting who is a stud 4 star OL with a brother who may be a 5 star in next years class. We are also in it for Damien Robinson, although not as much anymore for Shon Coleman. The fact we are not talking about James Stone tells me the staff is happy with where we are with the others.

The staff is still going to work to change the mind of Quarles from being a Gamecock to playing for us. We are also at DT working on Whittaker, and Thornton, and trying to get Lemonier whose teammate is likely to recommit if he has not already.

Lemonier is going to be special wherever he ends up.

I thought Calvin Smith was headed to Bama?

We didn't "lose" jose jose. He ballooned up to 385lbs after being told he needed to lose weight to keep his scholarship. The last staff politely told him to find another school.

We might to JuCo to fill some Oline needs. Don't be surprised if Stone and Wilson become high priorities if we miss on Green and Cullen.
