1. Tennessee is more talented than most of the teams that we played. (Mostly supported by the Tennessean News)

2. Tennesee is just not as talented as we first anticipated.
(Mostly supported by Knox News Sent)

Going by the first argument, which CPF, the same CPF that brings the talent in year in and year out from all over the country, we are at least as talented at EVERY position as every team we played. That means the Volnation deserves some emotion from their head man. We want to hear that this is unacceptable, and that the staff will do everything in their power to change it.

I understand what this might to for player morale, but the threat of change, and the recognition of underachievement is necessary if you subscribe to this theory.

If you believe the second argument, as many do the responsiblity lies firmly on the coaching staff as well. If parody riegns, then the difference in the ball game will always be the game plan and execution.

What does this mean? With equal or lessor talent, UTs coaching staff must always be one step ahead of the other coaches.

Either way you look at it, the coaches have to get the team prepared.

UT is always prepared on D. What are we going to do about the O?

I agree with the first part. Its on the POSITION coaches. Not the coordinators.

As far as getting the offense going, If we'd stop playing some of the countrys best defenses, maybe we can catch a break. (check the latest NCAA defensive stats to see where our opponents rank).

USC seems like a great start.

VB, we do agree that postition coaches are a problem, and UTs are limited. I do think RS gets less than average info from the box during the game.

It is also a fact that UT has consitently faced some of the tougher defenses in the country, and they do need a break.

However, I also believe, if parody reigns that UT needs a brighter OC in order to achieve greatness.

Playing UT may be part of the reason the teams we've played have high ranked defenses. :banghead:

UT has certainly made their fair contribution.

Could be. Only time will tell.

Point is, mistakes against average defenses are bad enough. Against top defenses, its damn near impossible to win.

To show how much I actually support the Vols, and their ...coaches I sincerely hope UT can make hay against some weaker opponents. Even though their is evidence to the contrary.

7 and 3 point performances aren't acceptable no matter how good the defense you play. Our offense can't consistently move the ball, and that is compounded by the stupid mental mistakes and lack of execution.

Our defense is just as good if not better than Florida's, Alabama's and Georgias, but each of them had just enough offense, and just enough patience to let our offense and special teams implode, to get points.

Our receiving core is both overrated and undercoached. Given that #3 has been off-on hurt, when Fayton becomes your go to guy, it says everything about the QB ability and the remainder of the group.

The blowing up of Eric Ainge (3rd and 11 draw got his butt sat back down) and the limitations of RC have their part but too often we have been fundamentally unsound with our pasing game.

We are not more talented than GA, ND, LSU and Bama (except at the OTs), we are more talented than FLA and the rest, who cares?
