Dana White has said nothing in Strikeforce changes. All the fighters contracts are going to honored and carried out under the Strikeforce banner. The fights will still be on Showtime with Zuffa perhaps providing some different production. The same guy that runs Strikeforce before the purchase is good friends with Dana and will continue to run. It's business as usual and this isn't that big a deal in the short term.
Was just coming here to post this.
Normally I would think this is a bad thing because competition is a good thing. Even though I don't watch Strike Force.
But... the overflow of talent will force fighters to swing for the fences. Nobody wants to watch a fighter duck and jab because they think they've won the fight. That's why I don't watch Floyd Mayweather and why I hate watching Rashad Evans. Too bad they are in different sports. Watching those two would be the worst fight ever. Unless of course you're a fan of dancing with the stars. I hope Shogun knocks Evans out. Same goes for Mayweather if the wuss ever stops ducking Manny.
Why the hell would I need to do that? I watched an interview with Dana regarding the purchase. There is no comparison between this and Pride and WEC. Grab a clue.
He said the exact same thing about Pride FC and WEC.
WEC was successful, but merged '' when the time was right '' - Dana White
Grab a clue.
It wouldn't be good business for him to say '' Yea, were shutting down Strikeforce immediately ''
Do you honestly believe everything he says is true?
lol
The other reason they can't shut down Strikeforce right now is because of the Showtime contract and the fighters contracts.
Just wait until March 2012, When all the contracts expire. Strikeforce will be no more.
Unless all parties walked away from their deals with Strikeforce, UFC can't shut them down just yet.
He literally says it's business as usual in Strikeforce like 50 times in the interview. You're just to ignorant to comprehend.
I'm out to watch Cotto-Mayorga. My work here is done.
Fedor wanted the UFC to co-promote K-1 events and let him participate in those as well. Dana made it very clear that wasn't going to happen and as president of UFC that is his decision. Not sure what else anyone expected. Neither side was budging.
