Guys like Flair aren't jealous. They're just pointing out the fact that Jim Hellwig acted like a fool. He tossed away one hell of a career.(checkerboard_charly @ Apr 9 said:the warrior was the man.
there is a good dvd put out by vince that brings him down though. all the guys on their hate him. but they are just jealous.
Good point. After his short run with Sting as half of the Blade Runners, he always worked as a pure babyface. Had WCW not been so screwed up by the time he arrived, an Ultimate Warrior-Sting feud, with UW as the heel would have been tremendous.(Lexvol @ Apr 9 said:Anyone can have a good 5 or 6 year career in the business. Longevity like Flair and Hogan is much more remarkable.
You can only get so much mileage out of shaking the ropes with both hands and shouting at the moon. The fact that he could never turn heal is also and indictment.

Very good book. However, the less publicized Arn Anderson book is just as interesting.(West Columbia Gamecock @ Apr 10 said:If I'm not mistaken, I thought Flair wrote in his book that UW didn't know what the heck he was doing in the ring and didn't execute the moves properly. Flair was banged up in an airplane crash early on in his career and still won't fall directly on his back. Anyone who has ever been a fan of wrestling, especially back in the 80's really should read Flair's book......."To Be the MAN!"
