The Blade Runners were tremendous. The UW's interviews were some of the best mic work in the history of the business. Also, his feuds with Rick Rude and Randy Savage were epics.

Guys like Flair aren't jealous. They're just pointing out the fact that Jim Hellwig acted like a fool. He tossed away one hell of a career.

Anyone can have a good 5 or 6 year career in the business. Longevity like Flair and Hogan is much more remarkable.

You can only get so much mileage out of shaking the ropes with both hands and shouting at the moon. The fact that he could never turn heal is also and indictment.

Good point. After his short run with Sting as half of the Blade Runners, he always worked as a pure babyface. Had WCW not been so screwed up by the time he arrived, an Ultimate Warrior-Sting feud, with UW as the heel would have been tremendous.

Wrestling is NOT fake. It's choreographed, there's a big difference. :biggrin2:

Is that what your buddy The Patriot told you?

If I'm not mistaken, I thought Flair wrote in his book that UW didn't know what the heck he was doing in the ring and didn't execute the moves properly. Flair was banged up in an airplane crash early on in his career and still won't fall directly on his back. Anyone who has ever been a fan of wrestling, especially back in the 80's really should read Flair's book......."To Be the MAN!"

To be honest, I've never been able to watch more then 5 minutes of it. Its always seemed to fake. If I am in the mood for wrestling, I watch ultimate fighter.

Very good book. However, the less publicized Arn Anderson book is just as interesting.

Flair's book is a great read! I haven't been able to find Arn's book locally. Does he get as personal as Flair? I also liked Foley's book>

Buzz Sawyer was even more insane outside the ring.
