I have gathered information that reveals a serious conflict between the atheletic and academic departments at Tennessee. This is one of the main factors that makes it undesirable for any prospective candidate to commit to us. Does any one have any more information on this underlying issue and if so would you please enlighten the rest of us at Vol nation. Also, I gather that the President is basically lame duck and will not get involved and resolve this issue. Do you think that we need to clean house at UT not just for the sake of football but for a more team oriented environment at our university.

It is obvious that since Dickey retired the leadership in the athletic department is completely inept. Domino effect from there....

I support Coach Jones, and I really hope he succeeds here. But the rank incompetence of UT's leadership has embarrassed this university, outraged the fan base, and made it difficult for Jones to build a championship program. This hire has finally united the fans--against the UT administration. Expect a half empty Neyland stadium until he starts to win.

Boosters, it is time to go public about the rift between the AD and the boosters. Only then will we be able to replace the current administration with some competent leadership.

I think that's exactly what has happend. I've had all I can stand from the administration at UT. Thow every last one of them out. Hire a headhunting firm to acquire new competent leadership.
