Just curious to know everyone's thoughts on the line for this weekend's matchup against Vandy. I know this is a rival game and the odds pretty much don't mean anything. Also, I'm pretty confident that with a 4-6 record, Vandy is pretty much out of the bowl picture. With that said, Vandy plays to be spoiler in keeping the Vols out of a bowl game.

Vols by 3! :peace2:

If Vandy's offense has a good day... We are toast. Florida's D is not that much worse than ours, and Vandy played them pretty well.

I think if Vandy can score more then 24 points we are done. Thats the most I think this offense can score. We will have a much better offense with Clausen and Foster, then we've had the rest of the year with Ainge and Riggs. So I actually feel better in that respect.

So, the Vols are favored by 13.5?

With the Vols' offense as puny as it is, how do you come up with a score of 12 to -1.5?

If I were a gambling man, which I'm not, I'd be all over Vandy - 13.5. I honestly think they win outright.

I think it's going to be a close game, but I believe the Vols will prevail in the end. When was the last time the VOLS lost Vandy?

Florida's defense not much worse than UT's? Are you kidding me? Did you see the way South Carolina ran all over them? Who in the SEC is ranked below SC in rushing? Nobody. Florida has a mediocre defense at best--otherwise they would be going to the SEC championship game. They have youth and will be stronger next year, but not this year.

Vandy has a traditional offense, unlike Memphis who was able to score early with some looks on offense our guys hadn't seen before. Vandy scores one TD in the 1st quarter, and a couple of field goals the rest of the game. If Tennessee can muster 2 TD's they will win.

UT - 20
Vandy - 10

I think we win a close one. That line has to come down. Who in their right mind would give 13.5?

The line is 11 right now.

I agree it will be a close game. Vandy is almost always close, even when we have a good offense. I just can't see us beating anybody by 13 right now. I think we win, maybe 17-13 or somewhere in that ballpark.

Win outright, are you CRAZY. You can't come in here talking like that. You have to at least go with the team with the better record playing at home. We are 4-5.... they are 4-6 for crying out loud.

It's freaking Vandy, people.

that "freaking vandy" team gave us all we could handle last year too, so did UK, dont get me wrong, i think (&hope) we will win this game but a win is anything but certain in this game.

It depends on which Vandy team shows up. If it's the one that beat Ark in Fayetteville and the one that arrived for the second half at Florida, they have a shot. If it's the one that played UK in the first half Saturday and MTSU earlier, we win.

screw it, i say we cover. i say we win by 16 and we rattle cutler's cage a little.

clausen will be fine and the music city bowl will welcome us with open arms.

but, will the ut faithful fill up the coliseum for a two bit bowl game?

I say we finish 6-5 and make the drive to Nashville. You have to be optimistic in thinking we will pull it together. Finishing a season 6-5 is better than 4-7 and no bowl.

Now....whether we win the bowl game is another topic up for debate. Let's just take care of business these next 2 games and worry about a bowl later.

How can any of you predict scores with Vandy scoring less than 20 pts? They put up 33 last year and that was when UT could score tds. I think Cutler will play a great game because it will be his last b4 the nfl. I hope for his sake he pulls it out because he has been a great player on a bad team for 4 years.

I am going to the game and I hope we play well this week...I will probably scream out loud if we don't.
