I live up north in Big 10 country and the sports talk is absolutely hysterical about Tennessee. It's like the only teams the Big 10 has that can even potentially sniff competition with the SEC is Michigan and Ohio State.

Now, finally, this year, Alabama doesn't look as super dominant Bama that we've seen in the past, and Georgia hasn't been truly tested yet. Finally, FINALLY, this could be the year that the Big 10 can produce the top team and have the National Champion.

And just when they thought the SEC potentially wasn't as much to worry about? Oops, sorry, here comes Tennessee.

They don't know what to do with themselves. Every Friday they do college and NFL picks. Last Friday, it went something like this:

--Depends on if Bryce plays. If he does, Alabama dominates.
--It's going to get ugly early for the Vols.
--Tennessee won't win, but they will cover.
--Tennessee will be brought back down to earth by Bama.


Now yesterday? The excuses started rolling in:

--Bama's secondary is garbage.
--Too many penalties.
--It's not the same dominant Bama so the Vols win is deceiving.
--Tennessee's not good because they're secondary has too many holes.


The Vols have everyone shook, my friends. Let's take care of business against UT Martin and Kentucky, then head on down to Athens and table top Kirby Smart into the hedges.

I would love nothing more than to make it 2-0 all time against the Buckeyes in the championship game.

It’s not the same Bama so the vols win is deceiving? Hello, we haven’t been the same in 20 years. Bamas secondary is garbage? Hello, we had a walk on in ours during the 4th quarter and our secondary is weak too. I’d love nothing more than to stomp Ohio St or Michigan in the playoffs

Need to take care of UK and that may be much tougher game than people assume right now (they are good and will be super motivated for our game). I'm sure our staff and players know that especially after last year when they dominated time of possesion. Hopefully all goes well and cats and dogs all go down - would only make sense after we finally took care of the elephants.

This is all an underestimation of Heupel. I think even UT fans fail to truly understand that this is all him. Anyone think Hooker is anything more than an average QB under Pruitt or Jones? Would he have even started? Would UT be scoring 48 ppg? Would UT have beaten LSU, UF, or Bama? Would the player development be on this plain? Would the scheming and playcalling be anywhere close?

Did those guys even have the capacity to lead like the program is being led or to build a culture and level of commitment we see under Heupel?

UT isn't the most talented roster in the SEC. They're a long way behind Bama in terms of pure, raw talent. But the best team won Saturday... and will likely keep winning. They'll win because they expect to win and they expect to win because they have a leader who won't accept any other attitude.

There have been several times over the past decade where fans have talked about "awakening the sleeping giant" in reference to Tennessee but I believe it's actually happened this time. For the first time in years, I actually expect them to compete for 4 quarters and outright beat Georgia.

Everybody sucks, has bad players, is overrated when Tennessee hands out an ass whoopin. The lack of respect is fun. It'll take some time

I watched the highlights of their last game so these are my opinions (take it or leave it). UK running back looked very tough against what is supposed to be very good defense (I think he had close to 200yds), and their QB also played well (helps him that they have good speed at receiver position). They also have a pretty good secondary so against all odds it may be more difficult to get our receivers open against them right now than it was against Bama. On top of this we just won the huge game and could have somewhat of a letdown (I've been watching sports long enough to know this is possible especially with college kids). And we all know how much UK hate us so will presumably come ready to play their biggest game of the year (and they have a week off as well before our game). Of course if Vols come ready to play and Neyland is rocking anywhere close to what it was against Bama we will hopefully be ok and come out on top. But this is potentially a trap game for us where right after we finally get huge monkeys off our back with UF and Bama the last thing we need is to lose the momentum via loss to UK.

If we just play our game, we'll beat Kentucky by 3 scores. Kentucky is not all that good.

Vols can beat any team in the country, even OSU does not worry me., I'm sure it would be a shoot out, even jawjaw doesn't scare me, we see what this team has done, amazing with beating Bama and Florida does to BVS, cure for the common BVS

I wouldn't say that no team "worries" me, but there's no matchup that I wouldn't go into with full confidence for a great game.
