The Walking Dead

I've seen this being said on TWD boards and I tend to agree. All life is precious is a great code to live by and I agree it is. However, it is much easier to live by when you're in an isolated cabin out in the middle of nowhere by yourself. When you're out trying to survive around hundreds of people trying to kill you every other day it just doesn't cut it anymore.

"All life is precious." and "Sometimes people need to die." aren't necessarily mutually exclusive to me...especially in a post-zombie apocalypse scenario. In fact it is the former idea that should temper the latter.

At some point, when you got crazy savages hacking housewives with machetes and axes? You might want to consider which lives are LESS precious. :pinch:

Interesting, I'll have to go back and look but I don't remember Morgan having this "pacifist" type leanings in the comic. But (comic spoiler):

In the comic Rick does eventually have a similar outlook later. Once he defeats Negan, he locks him up instead of having him killed. It's similar to Morgan keeping the Wolf alive and locked up instead of killing him.

Good episode just to long, which is normally the opposite of my feelings at the end of the show. I'm normally wanting more.

Eastman dying that way may have been his decision.

I think he was ready to go...

I understand that Morgan not killing the Wolves is part of his tribute to Eastman, but just no. Use the acceptable Texas murder defense "I killed him 'cause he needed killin' "
Definitely applies here. Totally agree with Carol's perspective. :hi:

This! This right here is a very huge factor to point out. It's easy for him to live by the "all life is precious" code when you are isolated in the woods and all you have to deal with is zombies. Morgan and Rick and everyone else don't have the luxury to try and rehab people, it's just not feasible.

It was a good episode, though 90 minutes was too much. The only part I thought was dumb was :

The way Eastman died. For him to get bitten like that was kind of silly. Why didn't he hit the walker with his stick, or pull Morgan back, or....well anything other than turning his back into the walker.

Totally agree. It was such a weird spot and angle to be able to do that much damage too.

Anybody heard a new character comes in this week? And saves somebody?

See my theory on how Glenn survives.

Someone Co.es along and distracts the majority of the walkers giving him an opening to get up and fend off a few.

They should have casted Steven Segal as Eastman =D

Kidding aside, it wasn't too bad of an episode. I appreciate Morgan's new creed much more now; he was starting to annoy me before

Jean Claude Van Damme would have been boss for that role. But I'll take a fat Segal
