Finally got around to watching the episode. Funny enough, another forum I'm a member of was pretty split on the episode (some said it was one of the series worst, while others said it was ok). I was with the latter, and probably agree with most of the people on here. Thought it was a well written/acted episode and I really enjoyed the story they told. John Carroll Lynch in general, was really good.
that's not to say it had it problems though...
- 90 mins was too long, they could have cut enough to make it the normal length and still have the same effect. placing of episode kinda sucked too. It would have made a great webisode or one-off bonus ep on another night. Placing it there, after three super fast paced episodes and a massive cliff hanger was an unfortunate choice.
- it's been over a year since the zombie outbreak, and yet Eastman (or whatever his name is) still lives a pretty nice, clean, hardly unaffected life. i found that a little hard to believe honestly (though, that's me just nitpicking). also found it hard to believe he would just place a clearly deranged man clearly intending to harm him, into a cell that can't be locked. talk about risky and stupid, jesus. that said, i did kinda like the metaphor it served.
- The way Eastman got bit was stupid as hell. Seriously, you aren't going to just attack the walker? or maybe pull morgan back from the walker? instead, you decide to put yourself in between them with your back to the walker? hard to even blame Morgan for relapsing when the other character does something so idiotic.
- Morgan is a dick. Finds two poor, crippled, people with remote chance at making it another week, and he just leaves them in their hopeless situation when he clearly could have lead them to the safest cabin on earth and helped them. F*** you Morgan. All life is precious my ass.
RIP Tabithia. Gone but not forgotten.
