This is my new weekly Nascar news and notes. Ryan Newman is out at Penske after this year. I have no info on where he is going, but Sam Hornish will be in the 12 car next year. Dan Wheldon continues to try to get a full ride in Nextel Cup with Ganassi, still now word on whether Ganassi will give him a job in Cup. 60% chance Budweiser goes to Hendrick with little E.

I pray that DW, Larry Mc, and Kyle Petty do not appear in/on your column/show. If they do I'm going for a root canal procedure.

Haven't followed Cup much this year to be honest. Where is all of the Newman out at Penske talk coming from? I personaly wouldn't bet on it happening.

i think it's coming from a couple of things. purely speculation on my part, but his lack of any real success in a Penske car is one reason. when was the last time he won a race? i think some of the team division still exists, even with Rusty out of there.

also, i think Roger really wants Sam in a NASCAR and i think Sam is certainly interested. Roger is like a second father to Sam (says Robin Miller) and if he wants Sam in a NASCAR he'll be in one. some say Sam has nothing left to accomplish in an IndyCar but i say he still has plenty left, like more Indy 500s. however, having won 3 IRL titles and an Indy 500, he and Roger may not think so.

Newman to the #6 would almost certainly mean McMurray would be gone when Roush has to downsize.

and that idiot David Ragan would be off the track, where he belongs.

Newman > McMurray & Ragan

(I know you think that too, just saying)

They could put Ragan in that #60 Busch car full time to get more experience and just dump McMurray altogether. Win-win for Jack.
