I have to agree with Panama City. My wife and I have spent the last week in a beachfront condo here and it has been a blast. Our first trip to the gulf.

I do also. Being this far south, I see more fans of Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame etc. etc, than I do Florida or Florida State.

Check out the Pier Park area for multiple restaurants and shops. There are several mini golf and small amusement parks scattered around. We really liked Sharkey's for lunch as there outdoor dining area is right on the beach. Full view of the ocean but covered so not so hot. The most prominent souvenir place is Alvin's Island, but Pier Park has the more eclectic shops.
