Just read the recap of the game on CBS Sportsline:

UT/MSU recap

Interesting language that the Vols avoided "another" let down. The first was the "surprising" loss to OSU after the Texas win.

In looking back at the Texas; OSU two game series; how many people were more surprised that we lost to OSU than were surprised we stomped Texas?

Pearl has the basketball world convinced!!!! At this rate if we don't win it all, the media will be saying he's lost his touch

I love the fact, like you pointed out, that the OSU loss was "suprising".

When I read the line that says "another letdown..." I couldn't figure out what they were talking about - maybe a football or Buzz reference. Then I see the OSU loss as what they meant.

We'd have been going apesh*t if we beat OSU after beating Texas!!!

Did anyone on there mention the "another letdown" about the Gators? I mean a huge loss against us and then to follow up by a loss to the Cocks.....or did they conveniently leave UF alone?

I'm not sure why you would say something about "avoiding" a loss though against MSU... I guess some people thought we MAY letdown against them... but we put a shellacking on 'em! It wasn't even close in the second half when, as 2345 put it, we had "our scrubs" in!!! Why not just call it like it was? a dominant effort...

I know what you mean. I can hear it now.

Agree completely... everyone keeps saying "I can't wait to see what he does with some TALENT!"

I heard Coach Pearl the other day say that he'd rather have "guys with a chip on their shoulder than Blue Chippers." His system requires a lot of hard work that the "talented" guys don't always want to put in. These players are a lot better than people give them credit for talentwise...

I understand the talent comment to an extent. A 6-4 power forward and no true, dominant inside presence is what I think of when I see that. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade Bradshaw for many other players in the country, but I think that some pieces need to be put into place before we really join the elite. However, I have enjoyed watching this bunch of guys put it on the line every night. I got to see one game over Christmas and I couldn't believe the effort. They deserve every article written and every call-in show segment they get. It reminds me of Hoosiers.

I really like Pearl's common sense approach to wins and losses.

Prior to the LSU-Memphis-Florida stretch, he said, and I'm paraphrasing, 'That's a killer stretch, if we can come out of that stretch with at least one win, then that would be good.'

Well, that's just what we did. Not many teams in the nation could have gone to LSU, to Memphis and played Florida at home and done much better than we did in all three games.

I can't wait to see what this guy can do when he gets more highly regarded recruits. And you can bet your bottom dollar that if Pearl builds it (and he is) they will come.

Cut down your corn fields.

Again for those who claim they are tired of the anti-fulmer posts yet the same crowd is always the first to bring this up in every post. Was this really necessary?
