I hate to say it, but after the first Georgia game I made the statement that a 9-7 conference record would sound really good with this team. Now it looks like 9-7 might be a long shot. This team could very easily go 8-8. I think they MUST at least split the last 4 conference games to get a bid.

It just seems like nothing has went right for University of Tennessee athletics this season.

But....(says the eternal optimist).....With two basketball teams with more freshman than Liberty University and a white hot new NFL coaching staff for football. Combined with a promising baseball team that just beat a perennial CWS program (admittedly a day before being bombed in two late innings and losing badly) and track breaking world records and recent swimming and tennis success. Could we be primed for an extended stretch as "titletown" USA????

Or you could say that with one of the biggest athletic budgets in the country and the biggest recruiting budget, we failed to even make a bowl game in football and are struggling to make the NCAA Tournament in basketball.

It will all be alright , children. You just keep cheering on the Big Orange.......Soon we will be the national champs in almost every college sport, all the way too bullfrog jumping , and craw dad boiling........Hockey!!!!! I almost forgot hockey. With the exception of Lacrosse, of course. Take your advise from alwaysorange81, He looks beyond the end of his nose. Go VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hockey team's been doing fairly well this year actually....

Ok, I'll meet you at the apple tree. Bring a rope.

It's funny how this clown only comes around after we lose a game... haven't seen him since the UK game.

The Vols were 11-16 (6-12) in basketball during the 1977-78 season. The football team was 4-7 during the 1977 season. Definately worse than this year's football/basketball teams.

Let's be real here, we are not a historically consistent basketball team, so to say that this basketball season was a bust is rubbish. We're going to the tourney with a decent seed, could never say that under Buzz, and we were extremely hit or miss under green and prior.

We're a "bust" considering expectations, but considering the history of UT basketball, we're overachieving.

After watching the Lady Vols game. This has been the most disappointing football and basketball season in recent memory. I NEVER thought I would see the day that the Lady Vols didn't make the Sweet 16, much less get beat in the first round. Oh well, I guess we can all focus on spring football practice now.

Are you crazy...we got the baseball team, with that genius Todd Raliegh leading the Vols to an awesome 1-5 SEC record so far.

This TRUELY is the worst year in sports in the history of Tennessee...I believe the only thing we can hang our hat on is a national title for women's indoor track...sheesh. Bring on the fall.

yeah i read a status on facebook by a vandy fan talking about how bad we've been since the vols and lady vols lost in the first round, we're looking terrible in baseball as well...But getting crap from Vandy Fans? That's just ridiculous
