Instead of voting for the plan, some GOP Reps are going to pray for divine wisdom?

Ridiculous.

it's better than saying that leadership is pressuring (bribing) a few people to change their vote.

I would rather they be bribed by real persons than bribed by spaghetti monsters.

i'm not a religious guy, so you're not going to offend me here.

but, an anchorman reporting that a few people went off to the chapel does not equal that the entire republican caucus is looking to jesus for answers.

they might be doing the wheeling and dealing in the chapel itself.

Good point. Also not sure how the OP managed to focus only on the GOP as being ridiculous... lack of integrity? I don't think so. Ironic?

Hence the word "some".

If it helps them reach a solution, what's it matter? I don't give a damn if politicians pray to a sack of turds on the ground if it helps them do their job and quit f***ing everyone over.

As far as I know, they're not trying to force it on anyone, so it's a non-issue.

Is simply ANYTHING really going to help?

Let me rephrase:

Their job is to participate in the legislature. The legislature is having a yes/no vote on a bill.

They are not participating, because they are off doing something else.

Hence, they are not doing their job.

I would say their job is to come up with solutions to the issues.

Right now, there's a bunch of half-witted garbage floating out there for them to vote on. If praying helps them come up with something actually effective, I'd rather have that then get some sort of pathetic solution voted on and pushed around.

Members going off to pray, meditate, reflect on the task in front of them doesn't bother me one bit, if they are doing so while neglecting their immediate duties as IP suggests then there is a problem.

Good point. But at least they only left to go to pray, as compared to democrats from both Wisconsin and Indiana who completely exited their respective states.

If they're not doing what they were elected to do, I have a problem with both groups.

There is nothing to vote on - I think they suck but currently the entire House is in recess with no bills pending a vote.

I said the same about the Wisconsin dems. They were cowards.

I was commenting based on the wording of the OP.

The vote was postponed due to last minute hesitations and change of hearts by said TP reps (reps who had earlier in the day told Boehner they would vote for his bill).

Very Christian way to wish violence upon someone...

I was just kidding. I apologize to you, but if you think it's un Christ like, wait till God pours out his wrath upon those that have rejected him. Your rejection to all things christian has taught me a lot about unbelievers. I think your a very smart guy. A lot smarter than me. It amazes me that I believe in something that I consider a no brain er while you use every opportunity you can to poke your finger in Jesus eye and spread a spirit of disbelief. In the end there is only two kinds of people. Those that are saved and those that are lost. It's up to you. Come on in brother the water is fine.
