There are several reasons why we lost that game...

but the reason that would have been the easiest and quickest to fix is Brian Williams. We lost because he was in the game rather than Fields at the end of regulation and overtime. Fields has almost zero offense. But Williams has zero offense and zero defense. Tony's substitution patterns are even worse now that Pearl is gone.

Hey, be easy there on the big guy. We all know that he isn't no all-american at the 5 but he played is heart out and made some great passes in the post to Harris. Fields would not have made those plays that BW did.

We lost because we do not have much talent on this team. We do not have NEAR as much basketball talent as the Gators. We are Overrated!!!

This lose was mental. They just don't play smart basketball. Coaches need to do a better job of preparing and the players need to play a whole lot smarter than they're playing. They're making it way too easy for teams.

This one. The Pitt and Nova games showed what Pearl can do when Pearl gives his all. He is one of the top coaches in the game. This collection of players, however, is simply not that good.

In my humble but internet bolstered opinion, we lost for these reasons:

1. Scotty Hopson has a singular knack for turning over the ball at weird times, whether that is a lost dribble, a bad pass, or dribbling around too deep in the shot clock. He also is only a 40% shooter -- certainly not bad except he shoots 12 times per game. Those 7 misses always seem to come when he has another option available. I would rather the offense run through Tobias more than Scotty. THIS is the easiest to fix.

2. Tony Jones is too f'ing quiet. Get in the players' ears a little more, dude! At times it looked like the players were coaching themselves out there, except when TJ called a play after the "Sweet Georgia Brown" flex was done at the start of the shot clock. Equally importantly, get in the refs' ears a bit more. [Love TJ, but people wonder why many of us (most?) want Bruce back at courtside?]

3. Why didn't TJ use Maymon on the Florida bigs? I thought that was one of his best qualities?

4. Team, this is Chandler Parsons. He can hit the 3pt jumper from the wing. Guard him, please.

Oops. Forgot to mention how Melvin (Best on-ball defender) Goins was abused by Mr. Walker. I think he even faked MG out in the post-game handshakes. Again.

Tony Jones is certainly building himself an impressive "head-coaching" résumé. Now that he's off to an 0-2 start, I think Tony had best plan on being nothing more than assistant for the rest of his life. It's like Wade Houston deja vu all over again.

BW wasn't the problem tonight, but he certainly didn't help either. Bottom line as always: He gets absolutely owned by legit big man. Tyus and the other kid for Florida made him look nonexistent tonight. He cannot play at this level. Bottom line.

So we shot almost 60 percent (including 7-11 from 3) against Pitt because Pearl was giving his all?

Good to know. Can't wait till he comes back and starts trying again.

Can't put all this on Brian...Where to start, intensity terrible, foul shooting horrible, defense unbelievable, offense no leader. About two possessions in the second half, I saw a team that was working hard and the rest of the time, same o same o.
