There have been quite a few great games in the early season, but this week was incredible.
PSU 20 Iowa 23
OU 55 Texas 48
Mich 32 Neb 29
Arky 51 Ole Miss 52
ND 32 Va Tech 29

and of course, everyone's favorite...

Bama 38 TA&M 41

And that's not the only big upset either. Clemson lost to NC State, and of course Florida lost to Kentucky. This is shaping up to be a great season of college football. I hope we continue to see more crazy games like this as the weeks progress. The last time we started out with this many upsets, I believe, was 2007. Remember how wild that season was? I think a new team was ranked #1 just about every week.

This has needed to happen for a while. College football has become the "Haves" vs. the "Have nots". I think most fans are getting sick of a half dozen dominant teams crushing competition every weekend. Hopefully, the message to new recruits is that you don't have to go to Bama, Clemson, OSU etc to be on a good team. It's time for a little more parity, meaning better games to watch. Who likes watching a blowout (except if the team doing it has a T on their helmet, and I'm not talking Troy).

You never want to be the next team Bama plays after a loss. Especially where the defense made some critical and uncommon errors. I really wouldn't want to be any of the D coaches this week for Bama. That first coaches meeting today, if it didn't already happen on the way home from College Station, will be brutal.

I'm not so sure I totally buy into this theory. Yes, there will be some butt chewing and film watching - but why is it just Bama that can coach a team up after a loss? The same guys will be playing the same positions next week. By this time in the season, your identity as a team is formed like 90%. I saw Bama doing some of the same things against Florida, and I think if they had another quarter, Florida might have done to them what TAM did. I honestly think Bama has some issues this year. Granted, they are very good and have good talent on that team, but I don't think they are near what they were last season (even at the QB position). They got beat by a team with 2 freshman lineman and a backup QB. They could easily drop another one. If they played UGA today, my money would be with the Dawgs.
