Former ESPN college football sideline reporter Adrian Karsten was sentenced to 11 months in federal prison Friday after pleading guilty to two counts of failing to file income-tax returns.

Karsten, 45, of Green Lake, made more than $600,000 as a contractor for the sports network from 1999 to 2002 but did not file federal income tax returns for any of those years, according to the federal charges in his case. He pleaded guilty in March to two counts for not filing tax returns for 2000 and 2002, and the counts from 1999 and 2001 were dismissed.

He had faced up to two years in prison but instead got 11 months in prison for the 2000 offense and 24 months of probation - including nine months in home confinement - for the 2002 count. Karsten will also have to perform 50 hours of community service, and the IRS might seek to recover some of the $167,000 in taxes he allegedly evaded, Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Jacobs said.

You've seen him before. Trust me. He's the guy with the platinum hair who always wore suspenders.
